  1. My experience on Solutions for Small Business VoIP? · · Score: 4, Informative

I have a small printing shop that switched 6 months ago. Our first thing was to make sure your bandwidth settings were set to the highest value. This can be set on the Vonage website and I last I looked there were 3 choices. I have seen new lines default to the lowest setting which is total crap. I have 3 lines on a cable modem connection and have never had call quality issues. I have had just about every other issue with ringing and connect delays, voicemail, caller id, etc. Most of the time you pick up and say Hello and the other person doesnt hear anything cause the call has not properly connected yet. But it saves me hundreds/month and the minor issues I have learned to live with. --

I believe in evolution - it happens with germs all the time. but the history of human evolution is just some vague conclusions drawn from scant fossil evidence. Do I believe it ? Yes. Is it science ? NO.

  10. Re:The heart of the problem. on Using Copyrights To Fight Intelligent Design · · Score: 1

Funny youshould ask, since I think parts of it are really not physics but math. All the stuff about exotic things like black holes are very loosely "verified". As far as I am concerned, something is a science if you can do experiments, not just make observations. You have to be able to first make a prediction, and then test it. And there are parts of astronomy that is not science or math, like looking for extra solar planets. This is just whatever it is. We will never be able to test any of it!!!

  11. The heart of the problem. on Using Copyrights To Fight Intelligent Design · · Score: 1, Insightful

Intelligent design is nonsense. BUT evolution, based on fossil evidence is a soft science at best. YOU CAN'T DO EXPERIMENTS only make observations. So evolution from the viewpoint of how humans developedis not ahard science.

The article is ABOUT people switching to Linux. This means they have to go out and replace all of their external devices ? Good way to get people to make the switch. I think the attitude I've seen in this thread speaks for itself when it comes to answering the question of why Linux won't become mainstream.

I point out that I've had a problem with Linux and get jumped on by a million posts saying that I am dumb.
