''Video games are protected speech under the First Amendment just like movies, books and television,'' said Sally Jefferson of the Entertainment Software Association.

Well, Sally, guess what? 17 year olds cannot go to certain movies. 17 year olds cannot buy Playboy. 17 year olds cannot buy the X-Channel.

So if that is your attempt to defend selling any title to any age group, you REALLY need to think through your arguement more.

Like the above three examples... if the parent approves it, and buys it on behalf of the minor -- fine. But some titles are questionable enough that a parental decision should be required. That is all the law says.

Now, let us hear the whiners tell us how this is an infringement on everyone's rights (it isn't). Let's hear how this means we are trying to be a nanny state (we have on many, many more issues than this over the last two plus centuries).

Bottom line: No one's rights are being attacked. This is common sense.

And that is one of the shortcomings with people in general. The reason he is doing it is to provide a service to other people (in his mind). You may disagree with his assessment, but it does not change the fact that it is not done to satisfy himself. You simply disagree with him so vehemently, that you are unable to, at the very least, see his real motives.

Now, if you compared his actions to a guy who has sex, but his penis is so small he couldn't satify a woman, that would be a more apt analogy. Masterbation is not.

Ummmm. no. He is using the term "mastubatory" to reflect doing something strictly to satisfy oneself. Wheter you agree or not Thompson is doing his work to help society as a whole. Therefore, it is not mastubatory.

Profit margin is NOT the same as return on investment. Not even remotely close. Profit margin in only half the equation in profitability (Wal-Mart has a very low profit margin, but due to volume is one of the most profitable companies). And profit margins are only part of the equation of return on investment (ROI). ROI is the profit divided by capitalization.

    You might want to re-think.
