    My bad. Local hospital was in 2012. I was at Cisco in 2013. I've been at my current government IT job since 2014.

    There should be plenty of space for surplus computer equipment in that storeroom which you personally cleared and which nobody had seen the floor of for years and which you're always telling us about.

  8. Some years ago I filed for unemployment benefits and discovered that a C RAMOS had used my Social Security number to work under. Notified EDD and IRS. EDD removed C RAMOS contributions for a smaller but honest weekly unemployment benefit. The IRS sent me a PIN to use with my tax return. Without the PIN, I can't file. No one else can either. I've been filing every federal tax return with a PIN.

    There was a riot in Sweden yesterday, setting a city on fire, started by refugees, in an area designated by the local police as a "no-go area".

    That took place after Trump's "last night in Sweden" speech. What Trump may have been referring to was something he saw on Fox News. If it was on Fox News, it must obviously be true. Unfortunately, Fox News is not an accurate news source.

    That's right, PP has not performed a SINGLE breast cancer screening, despite it being the first thing they list every time funding is threatened from them.

    Planned Parenthood does clinical breast exams and make referrals for mammograms if warranted. Interestingly enough, its the group's supporters who talk about mammograms all the time.

    Maybe I'm just trusting the summary writer in their use of terms too much though; this is slashdot after all.. you wouldn't actually expect me to verify the summary with TFA would you??

    One time I submitted an manuscript to a magazine. When the magazine was published, I've noticed many errors in every piece. When I asked the editor about all the errors, his response killed me: "An editor doesn't edit."

    I never did find out what an editor does if he doesn't edit.

  13. Well, Amazon doesn't have any Ryzen CPUs or Motherboards, but they do have this Wait for Ryzen [amazon.com] t-shirt, perhaps you could order it in small while you wait?

    I fail to understand why building small systems is an issue for some people. I have multiple systems in a limited space. My FreeNAS file server is a full ATX tower with six hard drives and room for another six hard drives. My gaming and Linux boxes are micro-ATX boxes. If I ever build out a Beowulf cluster, it will be four mini-ITX motherboards stacked on top of each other in a custom built, one-cubic-feet case.

    That may work for Fox News. Real journalists care about their reputation. If they ever get into court and have to reveal their sources, it would be awfully embarrassing that a thousand anonymous sources turned out to be one person.

    Journalists need a minimum of two anonymous sources to report something as factual to the public. Three anonymous sources is probably CYA from a #FakeNews accusation.

    Supposed to be 81 motherboards available at launch. The few that Newegg has listed are all ATX boards. I like to build my systems small with micro-ATX and mini-ITX boards.

    I wonder if AMD will allow applications to use the GPUs for their own purposes. When I click on the Nvidia applet in my Windows icon tray, it tells me which applications are using the Nvidia GPU.

Although it might be too late for me since I retired my nine-year-old Vista-compatible AMD quad-core motherboard for a Windows 7-compatible AMD eight-core motherboard last year. I might let the platform mature before I spring for new hardware.

    I don't allow outside access to my file server at home. From my file server I can make whatever changes needed to the website, run pelican to generate the static files, and rsync the output directory to the hosting server. Since I don't use PHP or MySQL, the script kiddies have no attack vector into my website.
