I think we all need to step back and take a look at this. First, think of how many cheap products, toys, etc.. are all made in China. They need people to work in the factories to make them. If people start looking around this "internet" it might give them thoughts. Now, how are they supposed to focus on doing their work when they have all this "free thinking"? It's common sense people.
As for Microsoft's involvement in the case (as the claims revolve around only those games released on the Xbox platform), apparently there is none. Inada said, "I understand why they can't come and rescue us. I know they have a full team of lawyers [for game and Windows-related issues." He added, "These [hackers] must have a modified Xbox--it should be of great concern to them."
When I read that they could of convinced me this was satire.
Did people happen to miss that the $250 includes a monitor but can be bought cheaper without? Some people seem to forget that this isn't a mainstream gaming machine but a machine for people where space/portability and price is very important.
There must be better ways of using your $30+ million dollars.

Why not just buy a used CD, burn the WAV files to your PC, sell CD, repeat until happy?

Just another good reason to get a 64 bit processor. And heck, we've been using 32 bit systems for over 30 years, lets hope it's not another 30.
