I've noticed a distinct speed decrease in torrents lately. Surely the only person who's had a decrease in torrent speed when they upgrade to 2meg. Seriously though, I don't know if my ISP is catching on to torrent use but I've gone from 100k+ to 20/30 average.... Not good.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. It seems that in this leap for equality they've forgotten the major point which is to give people the oppurtunity to do anything no matter what sex, colour or handicap they are. Jobs aren't going to the best qualified to do the job now they're going to the person who'll best fill their quota for equality. I don't know why IT attracts more men than women but it's a simple fact that it does, why is it such an issue?

Now THAT is a good question. It's way past time they did that.
Exactly why I download. I have a long train journey every day. I love being able to watch 24 or whatever I've got on the way home and pass the time a lot quicker. No adverts either which a bonus for me. I'm still going to get the boxsets when they come out but why should I wait when with the technology available means I can watch it the next day?
I'd happily pay for the service if it was offered, so that I could watch the TV shows I want to watch at a suitable time. The time between a show airing in America and airing in England are inexplicably large. I think 24, yes again, is one of the few shows with only a few weeks between them. But then, to see that now I'd have to have Sky which is another problem......
These sort of articles really get my back up. GTA didn't lead this person to kill. Poor parenting did, it's plain to see for anyone who can think for themselves.
To quote Trey Parker and Matt Stone:
The smut we must stop
The trash we must smash
Laughter and fun
must all be undone
We must blame them and cause a fuss
Before somebody thinks of blaming us!
For all the stupidity of their film they still made a valid point. Why should my enjoyment be stopped because of someones lack of parenting skills?
I really can't see why anyone would want this desktop. I'd rather my Windows worked smoothly and reliably rather than zooming around and giving me 3D interface action. It's not as if Microsoft themselves are doing pointless graphicsl effects on Windows....
The Fantastic Four was done years ago already. It was so horrifically awful though that it was never released. The rumour is that the studio only made it so they could keep the rights to make it at a later date. The power of the internet brought that film to my computer when I accidentally used a Bit Torrent. I can inform you that it was terrible and that I loved it for that reason alone.
That makes perfect sense. Why reinvent the wheel as it were?
I can't really see a practical use for this right now unless they can make it part and parcel of the image compession. Which they won't.
I try and archive everything I can. It's getting ridiculous now though and I seriously need to find a way of sorting it all out. I have e-mails dating back years which I'll probably never need unless I want to tell someone I received a certain "hilarious" forward precisely 2 years and 5 months ago.

The good old days of grainy hardcore loops are fast receding...
