    You can expect to see very advanced optical computing long before then, which should negate the need for copper in non-power applications.

    apt-get update -q && apt-get upgrade -qy

    Only have to press return once, and no scary scrolling terminal messages.

    Casual users don't modify config files. They can just type etc-update and select the -5 option to automatically merge the new config files with no prompt.

    I'm constantly typing emerge -uDa world. One thing nicer about apt is that it prompts for confirmation on a apt-get upgrade by default, saving me the bother of typing the -a option. I like to know what is being changed before I do an upgrade.

    I prefer the actual Euler's formula instead of the special case. e^x = cosx+jsinx

    Just a minor nitpick: there are no 'degrees Kelvin'. It is simply 'Kelvin' (K), e.g. it is about 280 K outside my window right now.

    I mention this not to be pedantic, but rather because I believe that adherence to the SI standard is a necessary ingriedient for clear scientific discussion.

    Ah, I'm using 1.x. I try to stick to amd64 rather than ~amd64 when I can, so that difference didn't even occur to me.

    5 CDs? Try 1 CD for Ubuntu, or 60 MB for Gentoo. Distro X != All Distros.

    Strange, I'm running 64-bit Gentoo and I have not experienced any issues with oo.org. When I first installed I did `emerge openoffice-bin` and it has been working perfectly ever since. Yes, it's 32-bit, but the integration is seamless.
