If you have been to China, you will know how almost nobody buys legit CD/VCD/DVD. With the current video standards, there exists shops all over the street where they will burn the DVDs for you right where you buy it. Not only this hurts all the foreign movie industries but also the movies and dramas that's "made in china (or HK)" will get burned.
If they can some how make it into a closed standard, not only the made in china movies will sell sell , which they are already selling them VERY CHEAP (think of the equivalent of about 20 bucks can get you like 2 seasons of Friends here), they can license to whoever that can import videos into china for some money. Sounds like a win/win to me(but not the people in China with all the DRM crap...)
I was never a fan of GTA, yeah, I know you can used the service of a hooker and then mug your money back after you done, but well that's all it's about for me. Now that I know there's porn in it and they are pulling it off the shelves, oddly enough, it makes me want to buy it more than anything else.
Depending on your browser some old browser might only support encryption with less than 128 bit keys in SSL, looking at the specs that's basically DES and RC2, so if you sniffed an encryption message sent through by one of these less than 128bit browser you can break it in matter of days.
I played CoH for almost a month and leveled to 26 as a blaster that uses guns and gadgets. As far as I can tell there's no single-character-changing experience going on, you kill the guy to get xp, and repeat, the type of villians you will have to kill depends on the type of your hero, and that's all the game will decide for you. Also the world changing experneices for individual players are implemented as one time "group missions", which are superhard missions that must be taken by a group of players, and these mission are level limited so they basically happen in every 5 level or so starting at level 20. In the mission you goes to a warehouse and kill a archvillian of a given gang. And that's basically it, nothing will be done to the gang as they still walk around the streets.
