The problem is that method would make a lot of bureaucrats look useless Those bureaucrats are the people get to be wined and dined by the publishers before making the book-choosing policies.
I know plenty of people who seem to think PC gaming is this huge headache and that you have to fiddle with bunch of stuff to get each game to work, and that your PC specs must be exactly right.
And, ummmm, they're right...!
Most people don't have a clue how to maintain a Windows PC, they want a gaming box which "just works".
Nope. This is obviously aimed at the current 'console gamers' who just want a box which plugs in and runs Steam with a minimum hardware spec for developers to work to.
Even the summary manages to say it, no need to read the article.
Note that these are raytracing cards, not rendering. Raytracing is a very different technique which can do.... and realistic lighting effects that rendering cards simply cannot do.
Nope. Raytraced images are some of the least realistic. Once you get past doing glass balls on a checkered floor it's downhill all the way.
Raytracing has it completely backwards, light doesn't work that way in the real world.
There are many patches of earth in my back yard that I have not set foot on. There are no doubt many living things in those patches of dirt. The fact that I have not interacted with he insignificant life forms in the out of the way places of my back yard in no way implies that I don't exist.
Thing is...there's nothing unusual about have life forms in a back yard.
For all evidence, life in the universe is very unusual. If you have a chance to investigate some, you'd leap at it in much the same way that if there was something bright and shiny at the bottom of your back yard you'd have checked it out the first day you moved it.
I assume you realize that your high gas prices are the result of high taxation and not natural market forces.
I assume you realize that your cheap gas prices are due to spending a couple of trillion invading Iraq.
Also... even though you pay less per gallon over there you use way more of it by driving gas guzzlers more miles. The monthly bill for "getting around" probably isn't much lower.
Add it all up and "cheap gas in the USA" becomes an illusion. In real terms you're probably paying way more than a European. The fact that it's getting worse is just icing on the cake.
Given the amount of "rasberry pi" articles that there have been lately, also the availability of google (which will tell you in three clicks) it's not necessary. Are we supposed to start every hard disk story with an explanation of what a hard disk is as well?
You kidding? They'll be filming it with their iPhones (held vertically) and uploading their own death throes before they'll run away and actually use the phone for it's intended purpose - ie. to call people and tell them they're OK.
Asking for that to be "forgotten" is IMO ridiculous and extremely dangerous, since it opens up the door to whitewashing history. "That food poisoning accident we had a few years ago because of unsanitary practices? Don't worry about it, we've changed ownership." "That boat that capsized in Italy? That was a whole month ago! Google's insistence on bringing it up in searches about us is damaging our business."
The things you list were the fault of the owners. The campsite was innocent.
Not saying they should try to erase it from history but I think a name change is justifiable in the case of the campsite.

This.
And this
Sure, until the pirate bay starts using magnet links instead of .torrent files.
Magnet links can be integrated into this.
It's probably even simpler: Without a system of paved roads a wheel isn't all that useful.
Um, yes it is. Small carts work on almost any terrain and can carry plenty of stuff.
Hybrid engines which combine raytracing, radiosity and photon mapping can give very good results, yes.
OTOH saying that raytracing alone gives realistic lighting is very naive.
I believe you're mistaken. Raytracing IS the technique where you're tracing light much the way it happens in the real world.
Nope.
In the real world light comes from a light source, bounces around a bit, then a lucky few photons arrive at your eyes.
In raytracing you trace a ray from your eye to the world and try to get back to the light source. That's the opposite direction.
Doesn't that already happen? PC games are written for PCs which are a couple of years old, not the latest and greatest.
Guess what, you were once a "window licker"...

I'm guessing:
a) It runs Steam when you switch it on
b) Games will run on it without needing to tweak their configuration first
ie. It's aimed at console owners.

No. It is *ridiculous* to hold person A responsible for what person B thinks.
You need to talk to some people who were bullied at school, ask them what they think of your theory.

Can't they wrap the dock in tinfoil or something?

They're dreaming if they think it's anything other than a tablet OS.
I don't think I have the upper body strength to use it on a monitor for more than half an hour.
A lot of oppressed, hungry people will get some food to eat. It will be like Christmas for them.
Isn't that a good enough reason to allow yourself to be "duped" once in a while...?
Given the amount of "rasberry pi" articles that there have been lately, also the availability of google (which will tell you in three clicks) it's not necessary. Are we supposed to start every hard disk story with an explanation of what a hard disk is as well?
What you need is a thing called "flashblock" - it's available for all good browsers and doesn't cost a penny.
I think the point would be to reset it whenever there's a quake.
ie. Not force everybody to wake up every 20 minutes and press the 'alive' button just in case anybody thinks they died in their sleep.
You kidding? They'll be filming it with their iPhones (held vertically) and uploading their own death throes before they'll run away and actually use the phone for it's intended purpose - ie. to call people and tell them they're OK.

Your skin is an organ...
I think he's admitting he did it wrong...
