You can always go to 'independent' sites, which are in fact funded by Microsoft. Microsoft just supplies the PR material so they could link in or use the M$ stuff as a template.
There was no key (no lock). Mere files and registry entries don't represent an effective encryption algorithm. So he didn't bypass any 'security measures'.
What else comes next? They write passwords plaintext in dont_read_me.txt ???
I never bought stuff that way:) Actually, i don't see most ads, i use adblock, got it? I'm the kind of guy who goes out of the room when the ads go on TV. Or at least i mute it. Of course, sometimes i USE google to look for a specific ware or service, and i'm happy Google helps me to find it.
Google didn't do ANY evil to me, it is a free service for me. Google won the search engine market by simply serving the best search results. If i don't like Google, i could try other search engines. Why do I still use Google? Because it is the best.
M$ on the other hand provides its mediocre software force-fed to me. I cannot avoid it even when I want to. Most software types already exist on Linux, but games are still scarce.
Seriously, i have no idea. The text editor is vim. And the crashes come rather randomly, but apparently if i have more stuff to commit, the chance is higher. It is very frustrating. Thanks for the svn tips, i will check them out.
CVS was before SVN which was before git. Currently, people migrate from CVS to SVN. Migration is painful, people don't like to migrate, because 'if it isn't broken, don't fix it'. Linus himself said, SVN is 'good enough', and i agree. I won't switch to git, right now. One switch a year was enough, and I did a CVS->SVN switch recently. But I don't say, i won't use git in the future. Some parts of SVN i dislike, including crashes when writing up the commit comment. I just don't want to learn a fundamentally different stuff, and bother with migration.
A website which wants to block firefox users, especially because of adblock, is most likely a website i wouldn't want to see anyway. So they spare me precious time;)
If you got the source, you can do that yourself.
All you need is to comment out a few lines, you'll know which.
Heh? Didn't Iran attack Iraq in the '80s
I'm pretty sure there are no 1000+ OSI approved licenses.
10 OSI approved licenses probably cover 90% of all open source.
If they are already out in the space, they sure are greater.

No, Writable Media Dispensers. They could cover the whole US with pirated DVDs.
The effect is worse than a dirty bomb.
Why was this modded down? Truth shouldn't be modded down.
I just saw a four eared rabbit on CNN :)
Isn't it because the 'enemy' doesn't do its own predictions by algorithms and therefore unpredictable?
The stuff is triggered by use, and people say the GPL is viral???
There would have been dozens of comments which insult the submitter for the bombastic title.
Using the J word should be banned.
What would people do when they are buying new computers dizzy about the marketing hype?

You pay the M$ tax in most every hardware. Even if you wanted to use a linux machine.
What they say about Microsoft?

You preach to the choir.

LOL. They actually ask us to perform DDOS?
Isn't there a plugin which could change the user agent string automatically for blocker sites?
Or semi-automatically for a list of sites.
But i have already installed adblock on every computer nearby :)

In soviet russia the RIAA ... sucks. ... sucks.
In the US the RIAA
Heh. Something isn't right.
