And btw, your kids are NO better off for it. All you've done is deprive them of time with you in order to give them some extra stuff.
Please, I URGE you to "worry about" your kids. Your time with them is MUCH more important than material gains.

Maybe when you have a family you'll understand that it's your responsibility as a man to give them the best you can give, even if it means working yourself to death.

You're not giving them the best you can give, you're giving your EMPLOYER the best you can give, at the expense of your kids.
Wake up and check your priorities.

BTW, I have a wife and four kids, so I do know what I'm talking about.

I have Digital Cable with the Digital STB put away in the basement because I can't stand the compression (although colours do look a bit better) of the video.

I also can't stand the 2+ seconds to change channels and the fact that the "bypass" doesn't do anything (yes, the tech actually said the feature was not supported).

Doesn't matter anyway, I only have basic cable (stop at 28 with a few higher channels in the 60's, 70's).

Perhaps, we should make a law so that the "weak and stupid" don't kill the rest of us with [drunk driving|cellphone use|speeding]. Wait a sec...that's what we're doing. I believe the laws are there (aside from providing income for municipality) not to protect the "weak and stupid", but to protect the rest of us from the "weak and stupid".

But then, since you feel that EVERYBODY should be allowed to [drive drunk|use cellphone|speed], I'm wondering which camp you're in.

If your married, and your wife doesn't want you looking at porn, then she should offer alternatives or shut up.

    Nice slant.
    Does this apply too?

If your married, and your wife doesn't want you porking her sister/best friend/random woman, then she should offer alternatives or shut up.
Let's slant it the other way:
    - If your married, and your wife doesn't want you looking at porn, then be happy with what you have (your wife) or shut up, or leave her.
    - If your married, and your wife doesn't want you porking her sister/best friend/random woman, then be happy with what you have (your wife) or shut up, or leave her.
Why is the responsibility on her to stop you from looking at something she doesn't want you to look at?
    Now let's try being neutral:
If your married, and your wife doesn't want you looking at porn, then talk to her about it and work out a mutually beneficial understanding.
