didn't really think so but it wouldn't have entirely surprised me the ridiculous wastes of money that go on round here through councils, someone with too little sense and too much budget access might not have realised you can crop video with the most basic of even free tools.
after all, some lunatic round here approved several £20,000 (each) city centre benches here, and a multi million city centre paving job that had to be redone twice over from inadequately sturdy materials being purchased.
"They also bought 3 500 copies of Adobe Premiere for all local police districts..."
That's a joke right? what could they possibly need that for, all they could ever need to do would be to crop to the relevant section, and very arguably (and in my opinion) they shouldn't be allowed to do that, ALL recovered footage should be accessible by both sides of any case.
assuming your not being sarcastic, (also as your not being modded funny)
deny service to ebay, amazon, or countless other ecomerece sites and your doing them more real financial damage per minute than several tyres and the cost of travel delay to most companies.
this law in my opinion (or at least it's intent as IANAL and haven't read all the legalese) is a valid generalization to protect all, that if enforced correctly should do no harm to anyone causing no harm (unlike various rights infringing DRM and terrorism laws kicking about atm)
Hmm, sounds general enough that it could be applied to various trojans, rootkits and maybe even some general software malpractice a few big companies get away with which could be a good thing;)
eg, starforce has severely limited the access to several programs and data on MANY computers throughout the UK..
If your plight is true then I AM very sorry for you, BUT changes in markets are part and parcel of business life, period. you have to find new ways to work round new things, everything changes, you have to adapt with it.
You said yourself you took it upon yourself to follow a different demographic, and it worked for you for a good long while it sounds, but now things have changed again, and you have to change again too.
I wouldn't blame piracy for your issues though, as many independent studies have show, the people who download more music are actually the ones who then BUY more music too, though not necessarily from a physical store, just an online one, which is mostly likely the primary candidate for your failing business model, unless it's just that people are always changing, and there may just be a massive drop in interest for the type of music you stock.. maybe even just in your local area, who knows.
Additionally, the demographic you targeted with your store are the LEAST likely to be downloading music illegally, because of the same values you mention, and the type of music they're after, that you stock, is far less likely to be available online illegally in the first place.
It's an easy scapegoat to blame, but it's not the root source of your problems, and you must not waste your time and energy on that, but spend it being productive and finding new ways to increase revenue, or even change market completely if that's what it takes for your sake as well as your kids (ie start selling ipods instead of albums? or something entirely non music related?).
With all due respect to the new found power of the blogosphere etc.. now I'm worried, that was too quick and too easy, what new horrors, or worsened evil have we missed still that MS hope to make us KEEP missing by relenting on this one issue?
Microsoft can HAVE my money every time I make a 'significant upgrade' when they ship it on a nice fat NAND, or even ROM chip with a set of NAND chips for patches, so it boots instantly, runs a hell of a lot faster and screws up less.
then and only then would it be remotely worth forking out again once you upgraded something significantly enough (ie new motherboard technology) that the card just plain wouldn't work on the new system any more (like ISA boards into PCI-x based machines:P )
otherwise, on that issue, get stuffed, all my hardware stays the same through each new box I build, cost significantly LESS than vista, still gets updated software for free.
with the speedy AIGLX and compiz desktops actually coming in linux distro's now (fedorea 5 I beleive), people not tied into MS for business reasons (being practically EVERYONE who actually enthuses over their systems and does upgrades rather than just like-for like 'keep it running' swaps) will be looking in that direction far more seriously than ever before let alone all of this DRM and EULA limiting crap.
I haven't paid _separately_ for an MS OS since NT4 when I bought a p-pro 200 and wanted a true 32bit OS. vista I was really looking forward to, religiously beta tested for MS from the first releases, was going to pay in full for, and now I'm just livid and dont think they'll see a penny from me for an OS again.
yeah, I should have said in my original post, I always thought one reason the mach3 was great, was the blades seem slightly further apart than others, so the gack rinses out more easily.
seriously though, shaving cream is bloody awful, shaving oils (like somersets, or the king of shaves stuff) are absolutely fantastic, I'm still fond of the mach3 though, anything more just seems excessive, excessively overpriced too.
That was my hope (and the claim) for the promised Carbon Nano Tube & diamond displays, that have been 'on the shelves next year' for the last 4-5 years.

upgrade installs take forever as it's actually trying to get your things to work, fresh installs can be done in under 25 minutes.
These are things that are all personal to you, because you want your things now. They're not failings at all let alone major ones, it's up to the 3rd party companies to update their drivers / applications appropriately, sorry.
ooh, yes, that would be cool. I'm pretty sure you can't at the moment.
that does sound like it's something osx does have set up very nicely.
I've got vista rc1 going but i haven't explored shortcuts in it at all yet (it's on mostly unused desktop instead of always in use laptop which just doesn't have the 15gig free (gag) to install)
I don't know about up a folder, but winkey-d is go to desktop.
winkey-e opens explorer, though navigating through that with keys is a bit of a pain really, but hey, autocomplete on paths/files in the address bar or winkey+r (run) still works fine, even nicer imo if you use tweakui to let tab autocomplete.
failing to work at merely -5 is ridiculous for any equipment imo, let alone something critical that lives can depend on, such as the FLIR he lists specifically.
erm, forget CFL's... more and more types of bulb can be replaced with longer lasting, and I think more efficient, LED replacement's these days.
I am no expert on the matter by far, but I do believe the newest white LED bulb replacements, are more efficient, longer lasting, don't have a long warmup time like CFL's and also are brighter overall.
I believe most British insurers have insisted on deadlocks on doors for house insurance for many years because of lock bumping, they're also often easily bypassed with credit cards anyway.
It's certainly very uncommon for doors to be left with just that kind of lock in this country.

because it wasn't/isn't going to be as soon as I can finish some things with it...life's just got in the way.
tiananmen square didn't happen either, why would we need such a thing as a filter. And no idea what google is talking about at all

hmm, despite posting as 'plain old text' /.'s stripped anything in angle brackets :-/
just download the .xpi for the extension you want to use, rename it .zip, open the install.rdf file with a txt editor (notepad).
find the <em:targetApplication> section
find a line like <em:maxVersion>1.5.*</em:maxVersion>
and edit it to something like
<em:maxVersion>2.*</em:maxVersion>
save the file, update the zip, rename to .xpi again, drag and drop it into a firefox window to install.
I'm using a non-officially updated version of adblock plus, webdev toolbar and several other add-ons quite happily this way with FF 2b2.

to clarify I meant 'mortice deadlocks' they have a solid bolt that goes into the frame so can't be credit carded, and use a non 'yale' style key,
different key type, different mechanism, don't know the details.
interestingly on trying to find a real answer to your question I stumbled across the existence of
"bumpkeysafe cylinder" locks too ( http://www.deslotenmaker.nl/index.php?cPath=33 )

TFA says "Forty-nine healthy people who received the injection showed no severe adverse reactions after 180 days".
So.... how many healthy people who received the injection DID show adverse reactions?
nowhere says how many were actually tested.
