Hence the *reproduce*. As for not that great, I would have no problem paying for such a desktop since to me all OS desktops look way worse out-of-the-box. But maybe that's my lack of taste?
I doubt Dell will charge that little. I once wanted to order 2 screws to add an additional hdd to a Dell Vostro 200 ST and they asked 25 USD for those... I was hoping I could get them for free if I ordered the hdd with them as well, but they wanted ~ 180 USD for a 1TB drive...
Dutch, here. Not to work maybe, but to school, yes. As for the smell issue (45 minutes in a rain protective gear, or 30+C): have a shower. At least one school I attended had those (and probably still has).
Is it true or not that Google has closed several of their apps and letting the open source versions slowly rot away?

Sarcasm. And I am somewhat expecting a similar crazy sale with the new iPads soonish. Not sure about the Mac Pro, but I will not be surprised very much if all those joking about the "trash can" design actually have been saving up money to buy one. I do think that Apple still knows what customers want. Which most likely is not the same what most readers here want (no surprise).

Right... that explains why Apple has such a hard time selling iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C...
Unlike all other companies, right. Anyway, what stops team USB from adding another connector. There are already several, so what difference does another one make, especially if it has the mechanical advantages Lightning has.
Arthur (1987) / RISC OS have the mouse buttons assigned as follows:
left click: selection/activation
middle click: context menu
right click: add to selection / select in menu and keep it open
Most (if not all) applications (!Apps) followed this. I consider this quite handy, especially the left click keep menu open (e.g. RSS bookmarks in Firefox would profit from this, iMO)
Also, shift-click on a file opened it in an editor.
It's not only the kind of food lab animals are getting but I assume that they are fed regularly; fed as in overfed. I keep scorpions and most people I know who keep them feed them much more frequently than I do. Yet mine are doing well. Moreover, I am quite convinced that overfeeding them shortens their live span. Additionally, I often encounter tarantulas in the wild, and most don't look as round and well fed as ones kept in the hobby.
If Google with the title of the paper and filetype:pdf fails just email one of the authors. So far I have been able to get papers that way.
For example I am interested in scorpions and am in contact with several professionals who answered in the beginning my questions and helped me to ID species I encountered. Now, years later, I have found a few new species and we've been on field trips to collect those. But before that I was already on a mailing list to which new papers where mailed on a regular basis before official publication.
Possibly, not every researcher has the time or patience to deal with laymen / amateurs but so far my experience has been great. The arachnid researchers I've emailed with (and still am in contact with) and been on field trips have been extremely friendly and respectful to me. To me a very fresh breeze compared to the IT world where a lot of people who think they know something are constantly out there to stamp down on people thinking they look smarter that way:-( (Hello, Slashdot!)
Unix grew up with security being an issue almost from Day 1.
Day 1? Hah! A nice story but it sure isn't true. I clearly recall that in the early 90's it was still no problem to login to a machine someone else was working on and change the background image of the root window of someone else's session... The days of telnet and ftp...
Decisions, decisions.... 50 USD out-of-the-box solution or tinkering your own for nearly twice that money...
Or updating a Dell BIOS, *sigh*
Yeah, Google will be very happy with millions of automated queries...
Yup, just like the USA, right.... right?
banging the pipes in the basement to call mum, what else?

If you're correct, why has nobody bothered to reproduce that skin (since you make it sound like a piece of cake) and offer it as a download.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Same here. As soon as you have a few devices that need to be plugged in once in a while it becomes very obvious that Apple made a very smart decision.
I just entered "dual core atom": www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=dual+core+atom Thanks AC, btw.
Just curious: what did you end up buying?
If only I got a dollar each time someone exactly did that.

Yes, there are binary blobs (GMA -> PowerVR -> closed source).
So, what's stopping you from compiling your "implementation of open source" and make it available for free in the App store?
Let me know when it's up.

And how is your choice quote not anthropomorphic?
