Can we trust HP (linux everything campaign) while they are strategic SCO partner?
Can we trust Oracle (Linux is our main development platform) while they are strategic SC partner?
And many many more. Maybe we can even find the website of a dictatorship using MySQL, oh.
I welcome stored procedures triggers very much, as long as they are fast enough to compete with the current "just program it yourself in you chosen language" style. Anyway: Another stored procedure language to learn.
That sure was incredible. My move to Google was so fast after they started, that it feels like they are around for 2 years longer. People telling other people: Use google, better than XYZengine. Altavista had that buzz once too, but were not able to stay on top. Google runs the risk of being annihilated the same way too if they do not keep improving their game.
Yes, with the bigger displays getting cheaper by the day, a higher resolution than 1600x1200 at 60Hz would really be preferable. At least run it at 100Hz. 60Hz really strains your eyes.
Depending on the rocket which launches the satellite, there will be a general base for the satellite to be build on. You need to be able to mount the satellite on the rocket. Total reuse of the framedesign will save a significant amount of money, so there will be attempts to reuse the frame, solar panels, and general control systems. This ofcourse if the power signature of the new equipment matches with what the frame can deliver.
One thing is a bit weird though about the first photo. Usually these satellites are assembled in clean rooms with people wearing all kinds of protection against static electricity build up and anti dust covers. So I wonder if the satellite in this picture is just a mockup to make a testfit of the equipment (never trust the drawings).
Step plan to GPS signal jamming profit:
1. Launch GPS satellites and sell lots of GPS devices
2. Launch jamming satellite (last week news)
3. Launch new GPS satellite system which is less prone to jamming
4. Sell new receivers => profit!
It just looks like the iPod mini, it is only a bit bigger, and only available in white. The name is the Apple iPod!
I think there is no connection to the regency TR1 except the colors maybe. But the colors can also come from the mind of a designer or marketeer wanting to make it even more trendy, doing market research and discovering that people want more than just a white iPod.
If the wheel on the TR1 would have been at the scrollwheel location of the iPod mini, and it would have featured a little screen (analog) to indicate what frequency you were on, than it would have become much more likely that the designers would have seen this device and copied it. They could at that moment even have made it retro on purpose by presenting it as the next evolution if portable audio together with the TR1 (need permission of Regency, if they still exist).
Don't I just need to know the Linux kernel version that the binaries were built with, so I know if I have up-to-date libraries?
That is called the Linux Standard Base, to which about all commercial and several non commercial linux distributors adhere to. So, if it is LSB compatible (would be a handy note from google), it will run on Redhat, but also on Debian, SuSE, mandrake and many others.
The markets were designed to forecast product launch dates, new office openings, and many other things of strategic importance to Google. So far, more than a thousand Googlers have bid on 146 events in 43 different subject areas.
So the prediction for a new office opening gets more accurate when you discover that there are less workspaces than people in the office. A production launch date more accurate when the people working on the project are occupying those workspaces all the time and really start to smell bad?
Is this not like a thousand monkeys trying to type Hamlet, but now with just a bit of brain and input from the surrounding?
Funny how the pc-pro with &%#%& advertisement over the text in Firefox, said that the AAC/mp3 format of the ipod is a tie in and this way suggesting that WMA is not a tie in. Very funny.
I do not know the quality of the circuitry they use for this, but on my ancient palm the intensity of the screen changes with the power left in the battery, causing me to turn the intensity higher, while the battery gets emptier, and that just to keep a constant screen intensity.
And ofcourse nintendo keeps battery life in mind when altering it this way. I would even be surprised if it had a real significant impact, hence the winning by just a few minutes of extra battery life.
Sometimes the question "Does it run linux" is asked on a relevant subject, and is not funny, but just inquisitive. It becomes humor when it is used on totally unrelated subjects. It is the same way comedians make certain jokes, or put a theme in a show.
In this case the comment is perceived as funny, on the next it can be perceived as redundant, troll or overrated.
Plan to win a head to head game:
1. Take your original GBA with dim light
2. Play a game against a person with a new brightly lid GBA.
3. At a certain moment the other one just stops because he ran out of battery power. You will still have some minutes left. => Victory!
I was just thinking: I believe my cardboard box was from a hollywood movie.
One thing is sure: You have to be real drunk to do those things those Polish students did, it actually sounds more like something which happens with certain drugs (LSD for example).
A while ago a guy shipped himself in a box. Since this satellite is washing machine sized, I can imagine him fitting in this satellite. Maybe somebody can find his address, and ask if he is in for another, bit longer, but a lot faster trip.
I do not really consider a satellite the size of a washing machine micro. Maybe it should be called mini satellite, so we can make the step to micro a bit later, once it is for example big tower PC sized, so we don't have to step to nano satellites to fast to describe satellites the size of a basketball.
Then again, following Jobs naming scheme: Nano follows on mini.
Landed in 1492 (12 october). That is pre 1600, so the killing of natives was well underway by 1600.
The authors can not object to Google scanning the very old books. Some publishers (at least one) also made a contract with Google to get their content in Google, so no possible way to object to that either.
The limit is easy to circumvent.
Find a page from the book. Google displays the previous and the next page(s) too.
Look at previous page, and search on a term at the start of the previous page, and you will get the page before that, etc. The result is that you have access to the whole book.
I do think Google is breaking copyright law with this, but since the authors will most likely not sell any book less (the method I just described is boring and cumbersome), I think they should find a way to cooperate. They could even make monye from it by turning this google method into the iTunes of books.
How does anybody get taken seriously anymore when creating just another wiki?
Warning: Do not place any creditcards on top or close of this device. The card might get damaged!
Yes, apparently sarcasm really does not make it into my english writing. Next time I will use the tags

And yes, I know: SQL:2003 standard. I am used to PL/SQL and SAS. At least one reason less to want to use oracle.

Why be quick to upload a virus?? I really do not get it. Why upload a virus to a Microsoft system?

High resolution photos of your girlfriend, relaxing on the beach.
Since the resolution of the camera is 100m per pixel, that must be a pretty large girlfriend.

Are they are looking to fill a hole in their budget here?
