(In case you're especially dense, we're talking fucking iridium here, just because a statement is racist in one context doesn't mean it's racist in every context. If a minority group is being discriminated against they pretty much need to pull together and make their voices heard to make that discrimination stop. Hell, in most places you have to get a permission slip signed for sex-ed courses in school. It seems that a lot of people here in 'Murrica think that the slightest exposure to sexuality will turn little Johnny into a raving sex fiend, pants encrusted with semen from his constant masturbation (when he can't find someone to rape).
Or the fact that, you know; blacks are a minority, have been historically oppressed, are still the subject of discrimination and were the subject of much greater discrimination when the black power movement was at it's peak popularity. And lets not forget that 99% of the people who use the phrase 'white power' are openly racist dickheads.
Certainly, if there was, full stop, no discrimination against black people, 'black power' would be just as racist as 'white power' but as it stands there's a pretty big difference between a rallying cry to defeat historic racism against your ethnicity and a rallying cry to reinstate historic racism against anyone not of your ethnicity.

You know the WiFi only Kindle 3 is only ~130 and has native PDF support these days. Might be something to look into if that's what you're going to use it for...

Anon.Clown was a little ham-handed is his phrasing, but to say it better, anyone who builds an entire career based on publicly decrying something which is seen as immoral by some but not all of their constituents has a pretty good chance of having skeletons of that nature in their closet. The phrase "Methinks the lady doth protest too much" springs to mind. It's a well known psychological phenomenon that people trying (incompetently) to hid embarrassing personal habits are often the loudest voices shrieking about how awful those habits are.
That doesn't mean that every person who speaks out against something is guilty of it, it just means that you should look carefully at the people with nothing better to do than talk about how immoral someone else is, because they might just be trying to divert attention from their own indiscretions.
What about blues, or rock, or rap or any other musical genre based in large part on improvisation? Even in pieces that aren't largely improv'd the artist's personal touch is often just as important as the actual score.
When you listen to a piece you're hearing someone else's imagination at work and there's no reason other than pure ego-centrism to suggest that that can't be just as good as your own.
I'm not saying reading music for fun is a bad thing, but it's different from hearing it played and neither is a replacement for the other. Like someone else said, it's like looking at the code for a game vs playing it. You can have fun doing either but it's not the same thing and neither is objectively better than the other. It's just a question of what kind of person you are and what kind of experience you're in the mood for. Another analogy is reading a script vs watching a play.
I'm hardly the greatest musician on the planet, but I've know how to read sheet music and am at least vaguely competent on 3 different instruments. To suggest that sheet music is a complete replacement for listening to music is a fucking farce. I don't think GP was actually saying that, but you can red the post that way which is why I made a joke.
But the internet is serious business so let's all get our panties in a knot...
