    Sadly, even that is not likely to work. If this article from wayyy back in 2000 is any indication, they can see through clouds, smoke, etc.

    The AC is speaking more about Apple's iPhone more than Google's Android here. You're right -- the logic doesn't fly when you read the article and understand that the kill switch only affects Android Marketplace apps, not apps downloaded directly from vendors. But the logic is perfectly sound when applied to Apple's iPhone, and that's the point he's absolutely right about.

    Yes. It fails the critical thinking test entirely. Islamic fundamentalists don't even like regular adult nudity -- possession of child pornography would likely get you executed in Islamist countries.

    No way. Everyone knows the terrorists are really hiding their secret messages in music and movies on BitTorrent sites and in easter eggs contained in cracked software. And the source code for the Linux kernel is also one big long top secret terrorist messages. And if you listen carefully to what Steve Jobs has to say, every third word is accented in a funny way so as to convey a hidden terrorist message.

    Regarding Windows Vista, he said Microsoft was prepared for people to skip it altogether, and that Microsoft would be "ready" when it was time to deploy Windows 7.

    If you ask me, Windows 7 looks a lot like a response to Linux on the desktop. Now's the time for OSS developers to step up to plate and deliver a solution that will make Windows 7 look like child's play. I'm game.

    Got any data to back this up? Usually I find people who say such things have a distorted view of reality. Not saying that you do, but I hear people say that and almost none of them have real evidence with which to backup their statement.

    Muslims typically don't believe in the immanence of God. Allah's transcendence is absolute, unlike in mainstream Christianity and Judaism where God is both transcendent (transcends the world around us) and immanent (is present in the world around us).

    Seriously, I've run Suse 10 on an IFL engine. It's so slow, I don't know how anyone could run anything serious on it.

    That's why their called 'z's zzzzz zzzzz zzzzz....

    No, seriously, mainframes aren't about performance. They're about stability. Think about 16-core server with 40 GB of RAM running Solaris, AIX or Linux as a Ferrari Testerosa, while the Z10 is more like Abrams M1A1. Not as fast the Testerosa, but pretty quick for something that weights over 60 metric tons....
