What's four years in mathematics? It took several centuries to prove many things in mathematics (and sometimes, even to independently discover things which were already known by other people). Are you challenging that Perelman was the one who made the critical breakthrough?
And I wonder if that crazy wacko doctor is going around infecting people with HIV, even though he doesn't show the symptoms of the disease yet. Or maybe he only pretended to jab himself with the needle and actually didn't...
Really, we're supposed to believe the study had exactly 49 participants? Not 50, or 150?
Surprisingly, you could have answered your own question easily if you had used google instead of rushing to post that. Note the date on the page I gave - "13 March 2005". From the page:
A total of 49 volunteers between 18 and 50 reportedly will receive the experimental vaccine.
The part of having to run the files is not really a requirement. Some flaw in a file format parser might make it possible to exploit the software to run code (as in the famous jpg vulnerabilities).
"Well as you saw I got a little frustrated with the Slashdot post." Translation: I can't point to factual inaccuracies in the Slashdot post, but I sure don't like the spin.
Yes he can. The post stated that the linked article containing criticism was stated to be one week old, when in fact it was one year old. Big difference. And now, just to put the icing on the cake, slashdot has another completely innacurate summary and title on THIS post. He didn't insist IE7 is standards compliant, he says it's not even 90% compliant...
What's up with the post summary and title? It's completely inconsistent with what the linked article says... Quote:
We're certainly somewhere between those two... I don't think we're at 90%, I think we're above 50% though - and again, it really depends on how you end up weighing things. The problem is, if I gave any number I'd really want to support how I came up with that number - and I don't have a great way to do that today.
And both are equally valid ways of raising a child. Most western nations just don't care enough about mushrooms to risk picking them up. We just leave it to the experts (who preferably are growing them and not just catching them, it's a lot safer).
PS: Even the experts who know the mushrooms in their area have been known to get sick or die when they go to another country and assume that the species which look the same are the same.
Yeah right. You tested the formula for one month. And you "found no conjecture" (whatever that means). And you don't have any paper records for it. And three people forgot anything about what the formula looks like. Anything else?
Someone please help me analyze this one.
Maybe by Chinese he meant just Yau...

Sorry, I don't think you have been learning George W's lessons well:
"Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."
This was the point in history when it was clearly proved that everything is binary.
Regarding the last past of your post, I have to refer you to a proverb we have in Portugal:
"Em casa de ferreiro, espeto de pau."
It roughly means "In the blacksmith's house, you'll find a wooden skewer". Strangely, it seems to be true in many cases.
how do I use the three seashells?
As if calculation abilities were required for thinking.

Or maybe you threw some fireworks before the party began. Check again.
Sorry to burst your bubble, they were 49 from he beginning! ;)

Nice trick, since a Wii is going to be much cheaper than the other consoles ;)

Just because I can see them, it doesn't mean I always read them ;)
I didn't even know porcupine8 was supposed to be a girl. And no idea about who AriaStar is :P
Are you saying that myspace has only girls? Great!
... how many slashdot users have you fucked?
But they don't say that they support 100% or even 90% of the standard (unlike what this article's summary and title says; read the article yourself).
Are they even forced to accept returns of items without receipt?
The usual crap by slashdot editors...
No. (search for "acid" on that page)

Tackling a problem for something other than money is one thing. Refusing money is another one.
