Very true. According to the article, I think it's more likely that their parents will do the right thing:
The parents of the children, who all live in Halesowen, West Midlands, say they are angry with police for treating their children as hardened criminals and accused officers of over-reacting.
The three, who have never been in trouble with the police before, were described as well-behaved and placid by their parents.
Amy's mother, Jacqueline, said
her daughter was left so traumatised by the police action last month she refused to sleep in her bed for a week.
Miss Higgins, 37, an office manager, added: 'Amy was scared bucketloads to be locked up in a cell knowing murderers and rapists have been sat in the same cells. The police action was completely unbalanced. These were children playing in a tree.
'The information taken by the police will be held on record for five years and Amy is worried it could affect her going to college or university.'
Sam's father, Nicholas, 52, said: 'The children did not deserve to be treated in the way they were. A simple ticking-off by officers would have been sufficient.
'The children didn't realise they were doing anything wrong, they didn't deliberately set out to damage the tree.
'Sam's eyes were swollen and red when they let him out of the cell as he had been crying. He is a placid child and has never been in trouble before.
'When I got the phone call from the police to say Sam was in custody I thought he'd done something-like steal something from a shop. I couldn't believe it when he said all he had done was break some loose branches off a tree.
'To detain them, DNA them and treat them that way was simply cruel and an over-reaction by the police. Generations of children have played in that tree and my son and his friends won't be the first to have thought of building a tree den.'
Mr Cannon, who said Sam had difficulty sleeping shortly after the incident, has written to the police to complain about the action taken.
This is pure fucking madness! Those policemen should be fined or locked up for a week.
About DRM... A friend of mine (chinese) has an Apple laptop. She came to Europe and is living here now. Guess what? She can't see dvds which are bought here, because her DVD drive doesn't read Region 2 dvds. Great!
Apple caters to their users and provides them with lovingly crafted systems that the Wintel world is just incapable of ever attainting.
And then they charge 100 euros at the local Apple shop (there are not so many, so forget about choice) for changing a fucking malfunctioning button in a laptop. Yes, that happened to a friend of mine. Just one more reason for us to laugh at him for choosing a MAC...
Construction or renovation of dozens of museums, planetariums and science labs for colleges.
Computers, classrooms and lab space for colleges and schools across the U.S.
A website and laboratory for the Gulf of Maine Aquarium.
A sprawling headquarters building for a non-profit research group in West Virginia created by U.S. Rep. Alan Mollohan. The Democrat is now subject of a broader congressional ethics probe.
I think the Brits have the right to do whatever the hell they want. It's their language after all! Sometimes I hear analogous bullshit from Brazilians (I'm Portuguese).
It's usually because they're tired of bullshit, which comes from bulls, or people:P
Wow. That would be a nice theme for a thesis. Do bulls emit more, less, or exactly the same bullshit as people? I'm sure some nice looking metric could be devised in order to make the comparison.
Maybe just nerds are more inept at understanding emotions from text than other people? Based on the summary and many of the comments to this story, I would say so. (not that I didn't know it before)
I am typing this on a single tape turing machine emulating an Amiga which is emulating a Pentium 4 running Longhorn build 5048. My TV is an oscilloscope connected to an antenna. I've got hair all over my body, and my underwear is a couple of leaves down under.
Come on people... Even if he has acted like an ass sometimes, this is still the guy who helped bring us great and unique games... He deserves a lot of credit for that!

I've never seen a PC being sold with a restrictive dvd player. That's my point.

Maybe because people keep falling on the stupid "hardware is fast so my software can be slow" fallacy? WAKE UP PROGRAMMERS.
The lag (and probably lack of bandwidth too) would be incredible.
And it would be really immoral to give money to the bastards who try to sell them!
That's not official, it's just a pledge. I didn't hear anything about it turning official, but there may have been newer developments?
This guy would disagree!
In other news, NASA funds AIDS curing research. Also a worthy project for spending scientific money, wouldn't you say?
Apparently not enough:
I guess every minute in which the ISS isn't doing anything is money thrown away...
I don't understand why you thought about that... What the hell does it have to do with this article??

Relatively cryptic? I think it couldn't be clearer.

Well, knowing the frequent paranoia in slashdot I thought you were implying that it could be dangerous for the reason you said. My bad! :D
Or just kill him in a less complicated way...
But... Can anyone jump in the middle of their speeches and change a part of what they said?
It also works on Windows 2003.
So why not throw away pens, pencils and books as well?
Come on people... Even if he has acted like an ass sometimes, this is still the guy who helped bring us great and unique games... He deserves a lot of credit for that!
Don't they think of internet's tubes??
