When you announce your departure, write a very logical and very true letter. Don't be afraid to say something like "I think my boss lacks the skill to delegate authority" or "the office kitchen is infested with mold". So long as you are truthful and logical, it can never be held against you, and it may even serve to prove your character as unwaveringly logical.
In no circumstances should you ever do that. It can only be used against you.
If you give me six lines written by the most honest man, I will find something in them to hang him.

You former employer doesn't care about how logical you are. At best, you saved them EI payments, and at worst you just left them with a mess that will need to clean up. At best, you might want to grab a beer with a *trusted* co-worker to discuss problems. Doing an exit interview is only slightly less stupid than writing a letter.
Provide the book resources as a tutorial but get the students to do something different for the actual assignment. It could be as simple as swapping a few textures or effects. A blur on a cat will look very different to a blur on a dog even though the technique is the same.
Actually, this is merely requiring search companies to disclose conflicts of interest. Eg, best result for a query and the desire to upsell site rankings. It is required in other areas, like real estate, already so I don't think this is over stepping precedent.
They'll charge the same rate per byte all the time. Information is like electricity. It's cheaper at night.
So if I'm given 10GB/month in downstream then why should I bother to do any large transfers at night? a byte is a byte and I'd rather just leave my computer off. If, on the other hand, they said that bandwidth was free off-peak(after 11pm before 9am) then I could agree with their plan. I would have an incentive to queue files and download them over night, rather than during the day.
Simple, floppies are evil. But I agree, downloading the entire CD just to net install is a waste. Get a net-install CD and use that.

Minor problem, if your.so is compromised neutured then *every* program on your system has the same problem. It is also possible to override library paths by using LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I think having a stand-alone app where data is piped in and out is much more secure than a.so.
It's actually something you learn in high-school physics class(I learned it a little while in HS Physics:) )
The terminal voltage(voltage at the terminals) of the battery is given by
Vt = E - I*r
E being the internal EMF of the battery(ie the battery's rating)
I being the current drawn
and
r being the internal resistance of the battery.
So if you draw more current, like to power a light bulb, you will get a lower voltage than if you sending pissey amounts of current through a Voltmeter alone.
Shaw@home provides IPv6 address. Maybe all of the @home networks provide it. So check it out. Send them an email asking about the status of their IPv6 compliance. You may be surprised
Did you know in Canada drug dealers are required to pay tax on their haul. Revenue Canada must keep any data secret so they won't tip off the RCMP. The thing is if you get busted, Revenue Canada will calculate how much money you should have made and will hit you with tax evasion and late fines.
So remember kids, always pay your taxes, no matter your job.
The First Great Tragedy is the attack and destruction of the WTC and ~5000 souls.
The Second Great Tragedy will be the trial and execution of Bin Laden.
I seriously doubt it will be a fair trial(guilty or not). With it will die the American Promise. If he did do it he has crafted the most ingenious attack yet. Why waste your own resources when your enemy will gladly tear itself apart trying to prevent the 'Next Big Terror'.
Dude, your program isn't portable nor will it run;)
0xFFFFFFFFUL vs INT_MAX
You might not be on a 32bit architecture.
Also, foo doesn't point to anything, you haven't initialized it. Your program will almost certainly seg on the first iteration of the loop. Plus even if you did correctly initialize it you would miss the first unsigned long.
You also have too many for loops. 1 would be sufficient, but yours will never end.
... of something I saw on the Discovery Channel. Apparently after invading Spain the Romans wanted to extract the gold inside of a mountian. So what they did was order their slaves to dig a winding maze of tunnels through the mountain. Then the romans unleashed a river to run through the mountain. This effectively destroyed the mountain and stripped out all the gold. The water then flowed into a plain which held Marygolds I think, it some yellow flower anyways.
If 50% of the linux market is desktop then it has 10% of the total, not 0.3%. Your mistake came from assuming that 150:1 win32 client:server ratio even applied to linux(you said 1:1). In fact, this shows that windows servers have 0.6% of the server market, whereas Linux has 10% of the server market or 1500 times more servers.
Client side it's 10%(linux) vs 39.4%(windows). So windows has 4 times the market share. I do consider 10% cracking the market.
I believe your largest mistake was lumping both segments together and comparing them.
NB. True number are closer to
Win32 - 90%
Mac - 5%
Linux - 5%

Dude, when you square the area you have to square all operations you do to it. So one third of 90,000/sq.in. is actually 10,000. It's crazy but do the math(1/3^2). So you get roughly 100 dpi.
Head north. Canada has no laws against reverse engineering. Hell, there are companies in the government's company database lookup that *advertise* reverse engineering services
here
Why stay in the US with oppressive when you can come to Canada with oppressive taxes! You can't lose. Plus you can relocate to cities which aren't a permenant shade of brown and still be near major centres. NB: I'm not talking about Vancouver.
Hell, if you were large enough, relocate to some of the more remote major centres of Canada(Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Iqaluit) and get *major* tax breaks from the governments.
TLC? You're kidding right? The Trauma: Life in the ER channel. They show exactly 2 shows, Trauma and A [some romancy thing] story.
Discovery is nothing but animals shows. Some may like it, but I don't. Plus their spinning off another channel with a *mission* to cover animals.
I don't watch History myself.
Note Bene: I rarely watch TLC/Discovery and I know TLC does show other things(Extreme Machines) but usually it's pretty bad and rates up there with Trauma in intellectual stimulation.
Ugh, most shows aren't too bad(except Cindy Margolis/Howard Stern Radio Show Program). Many commercials show nearly naked chicks for everything. I mean breasts are used to advertise: bras, tires, beer, computers, movies...
Why would I want my kids exposed to such filth in between otherwise acceptable shows. I mean commercials don't get ratings yet are designed to provoke and shock. These are what should have the ratings, not the shows. At the very least, commercials should be rated.
I'd like to be free to keep more than 50% of my income, without having it all go to taxes to support dubious socialist programs that I'll never make use of, because I *work* for a
living.
You mean schools, roads, and hospitals?
I'd like to be free not to have my government try to reduce my standard of living to that of the lowest common denominator.
Someone's been smoking the anti-socialist crack pipe a little too hard.
I'd like to be free to say what I want - even though I probably wouldn't exercise that freedom - without the Canadian government telling me that what I say is obscene, unfair or unjust,
and therefore proving that I have freedom of speech to a point, similar to the way that China has freedom of speech to a point.
That only applies to promoting hate speech. I don't really like it either though.
I'd like to be free to drive on roads without jackasses talking on cellphones reversing on freeways because they've missed their exits.
They don't normally do things like that in Canada. How many of those have you seen compared to the US?
I'd like to be free to know that upon returning to Canada, the Canadian Customs agents will treat me as well as the friendly, chipper, informative, helpful and welcoming American
Customs staff always do.
That depends on the officer really. They are nice though.
I'd like to be free to live in a country where national unity is not a central issue to every political decision.
Fine, live in the US where every single level of government is fighting for every scrap of power out there. Atleast in Canada, the governments know their place.
I'd like to be free to live in a country where I can pay for health care that doesn't leave me sitting in an emergency room for three hours waiting for a Keflex prescription for strepped
throat, while homeless heroin-addicts with needles broken off in their arms come in after me, sit beside me, play show-and-tell with their pus, and then get served before I do, despite
the fact that I'm a tax payer and they're not.
This homeless bum should receive treatment before you. He has a fucking needle in his arm and your in the ER waiting for a damn prescription! If you don't want to sit beside him, then MOVE! Everyone in Canada gets healthcare, not just the pompus and arrogant.
I'd like to be free to live in a land where what is played on TV and radio stations is based on market demands, not on CRTC 40% Canadian Content regulations, forcing broadcasters
to play the same really lame Tragically Hip songs and poorly lit Canadian TV shows over and over again.
Then watch American TV channels or don't watch TV at all!
Most of all, I'd like to be free to go outside without fearing for my life for 5 months of the year. I don't define quality of living by habitating in a place where you can die simply from
going outside without a jacket on.
If you're stupid enough to live in a place where you can die from exposure and you don't like wearing a jacket then you deserve to die. Or better yet, why not cause some global warming!
I'd like to be free to live in a land where the politicians don't waste millions of dollars trying to figure out why all of Canada's best, brightest and most talented are moving to the United
States, while the problems are so obvious and mostly rectifiable.
How would you solve it? Pay people more money? From where shall you get these misplaced millions/billions?
You have said quite a bit that is untrue about Canada.
You utter fool. Do you honestly think that money spent on the space program is wasted? The Space program is by far one of the most EFFICIENT parts of the US Government. Money spent in space is not returned the next friday like some bad lotto. It comes back 10 or 20 years down the road as pretty much ANYTHING. From simple ecnomic boosts, to vastly better technology to fanciful innovations.
Do you actually think that the decendants of blacks who were imported as slaves deserve to receive welfare? I say no, for one reason. Compare the US to Africa. You should be happy as hell you are living in a place as nice as the US as opposed to Africa.
