I'm not sure if we should worry about that or not. The sun's diameter is ~1.4 million km (but that light is spreading in all directions). The earth itself is only ~13,000km in diameter.

Assuming earth-sized solar panels won't be in the picture anytime soon, I think it would be safe to say that even billions of solar panels won't be enough to block the sun's rays, because the sun is so massive and its light is extending everywhere. The shadow produced from one of these solar catchers would be like that of a gnat flying just over your head--you wouldn't even notice.

I also doubt said panels would have any effect on alien worlds, since those worlds would have their own star / energy source--why would they need light from ours?

...those innocent people have voted to perpetuate the lifestyles they cling to and that involves in many ways (oil, patents, etc) the erosion of other cultures value systems. No longer does morality play a role in the US

You're absolutely right. Those people are generally conditioned into thinking that their sort of life is nice, even though they may have to work hard all day like an ass, drive 30 or 40 mins to work and back, and always be threatened by unemployment. Where's the happiness in that? Modern US life is like animal life. Eat as much as you want, sleep in late, have as much sex as you can, and defend and expand your wealth -- these are overindulged to such a degree, you can observe it anywhere.

You mention the oil, and the US is very dependent on it. We think we're very powerful and advanced but as soon as the petrol runs out, bam. No more fuel. We're trying to use hydrogen, solar power, but so far there haven't been any widespread uses of such technologies (being more expensive) and it's just simpler (and more profitable) to use oil. So once the petrol is gone, the whole society will be thrown into chaos.

Our society is clearly an animal society. We are obsessed with taking care of our temporary, gross body and we've become just like the animals. And we have all this information in medicine, science, physics, and all of that's good, but what do they get out of it? They are pursuing one information or another, but what's their goal? Our society is like a fire of lust (for money, sex, food, honor, whatever), and its glorification of wealth and status in popular culture only act as gasloine added to the base. At least that's my two cents.

Remember, evolution only pertains to the body. Darwin's theory is correct, but it only applies to the physical form our body takes. And we are not this body. The real ignorance lies in this "ism" and that "ism", and the failed attempts in cultivating a peaceful society which is godless. Religion without philosophy is temporary sentiment, and sometimes fanatasicm, whereas philosophy without religion is useless speculation. So, to an intellegent observer, the "scientific viability" of Darwin's theory has nothing to do with God realization.

I've always resented this phenomenon (checking other people's away messages / profiles profusely). I used to have an IMChaos link (before everyone figured out how to circumvent them) and I would see people clicking on my profile that hadn't talked to me in years.

I regularly clean up my buddy list and remove people that I know I don't want to talk to. I think people are just too lazy to do that, and, when they're bored, read your away message (because now you're too cool to talk to them...or something)

"We understand how much our clients are suffering," reports Jonathan Smith, head FBI agent of 'Operation Fastlink'. "I mean, can't these pirates see what they're doing? They're dashing all these poor companies hopes of making their money. And without money, how can their employees enjoy their temporary, godless, materialistic life?"

Neither side seems willing to budge.

I agree.. It's too bad the pretentious director (who's probably never played a game of DooM) has decided to ruin this awesome storyline by making it as mediocre as other grade - B zombie movies. The whole fun in doom was that you're a space marine who's battling the armies of hell. They could have based the movie on the first two books and it would have been good. I guess I should withold judgment until after I see the movie but you and I both know this is going to be one serious flop.
