Shouldn't any critical data be stored on a stand alone box anyways??? Or atleast backed up on one???
The easiest way to secure a computer is to allow no network/ internet access at all
I'm sorry, but that does not belong on a top 100 List! The original Drunken Master had a way better story line, and the choreography (sp??) was better. Jackie Chan was in much better shape when he made the first one. All and all the first movie was way more impressive. Deffinately a much better film! But it still doesn't belong on a top 100 list... (maybe a top 100 list of guy flicks... but not all time movies!)
I would like to track any of their private usage, and see how many of them download music etc....
I can pretty well gaurentee that a lot of them aren't practicing what they preach. That's the problem with all of these rich ppl. None of them are accountable to the laws, (... or codes of conduct), that they thrust on us.
I honestly don't mind spending the money on a game that i can play for sometimes nearly 100 hours or more... (i'm an RPG fanatic)
It sure beats paying 10 bucks for a movie that chances are sucks... most hollywood movies these days are putting so much money into FX and advertising, that they are forgetting the fundementals... (story, acting... etc...), something that the video game industry is deffinately kicking hollywood's butt at....
so i don't mind giving them the cash for a far superior form of entertainment
I always asked why the MPAA should even bother worrying???
The quality of any downloaded movie i've ever seen has pretty well sucked compared to an actual DVD.
The only reason to download is to get a preview that i can see. I mean if the flick is worth watching, then 9 people out of 10 are probably going to buy or rent it....
OK.... i get where you're coming from...
but i have been on the other end. haven't broken any laws, but have been threatened and harassed... so perhaps i'm just blowing off steam....
Although I do agree that he should have gotten in trouble. I think what he got is on the severe side.
I think this is much akin to the witch hunts of older times. People are afraid of what they don't understand. Because people are still pretty well computer illiterate, (thanks mostly to windows... but that's another beef for another post)... so it's human nature to fear what they don't understand.
Because a computer was used for a "crime" the justice system, so afraid of our voodoo magic, comes down very hard out of fear. Plain and simple.
I work in a television... Sure, I live in America Junior, (canada), but it is much the same here.... although to a lesser degree. I find that canadian stations sensor much less.... or atleast much differently.
I remember catching an american broadcast of the Matrix.... and they edited out every little offensive word, (including changing "Jesus Christ" into "Judas Priest" LOL.... i really get a kick outta that!) Yet they left every little bit of violence! I find that amusing.... it's a great message! You can go out and shoot anyone you want.... just don't swear!
anyways.... between all of these groups, PTC etc.... and the inteference of large corporations.... (people that advertise on the networks....) there really is nothing that isn't censored anymore.... (especially the news)
You know why there are significantly less nix haters??? Because it is a superior product. Simple as that...
I know where you're coming from.... I guess mine is more of a "in a perfect world" argument. I like my perfect world, where actual Logic rules.

Learn Dvorak.... it's proven to speed you up! After my initial learning curve, I was typing nearly twice as fast as on a QWERTY board...
