'All software should be written in Java' - you must be kidding, right? I mean, Java is good because the porting issue is, well, not an issue (or: not such a big issue anyways) but using it for everything??? I don't think so!
Well, another example that the world is reaching new extremes, and US is (usually) the first place for any extreme to occur. SO now it's perfectly normal to make money doing nothing, more: using the system that should provide the protection to the inventors to further encourage the development of new stuff.
Sometimes I really believe that self-destruction (or more often, self-mutilation) is something that people cannot live without.
I don't get it. I don't even notice the CapsLock on my keyboard, usually it's somewhere under my left palm and I have to try really, really hard to hit it 'by accident'.
What's the point in finding out problems that do not exist?
I have GP2X as well, works great for me: I love vintage games (MAME, Genesis) so it's perfect. And yes, video and audio works good too. You can tweak with it, play with it... anything that you fancy.
Of course, GP2X has no chance to get to steal the market from PSP and Nintendo DS, but it is something perfect for me: I can play old games (MAME, Sega Megadrive/Atari/Gameboy emulators etc), I can code myself (natively in C but also in Python, although it works pretty slow yet), I can listen to the MP3s/OGGs and view videos. There is thriving community of similar people, who code some nice stuff on it... GP2X is out for 2 months and there is tons of stuff availabel already. Like someone said, it is almost a protoype and it is not perfect but I predict it will work great in less than a year.
whole project looks great, unfortunately I can't use it (yet) on my iRiver-iH120; Rockbox does not support remote's LCD right now (my main LCD is damaged; I really shouldn't put my player into my back pocket and go the party!).
As soon as remote is working, I'll give it a shot.
Authorities love inducing fear in their subjects. Nothing keeps the authorities better in their seats.
Looks like Europe is far more ahead than US/Canada at least in this technology... :-)

exactly... when sh*t hits the fan in the near future, some people will feel the falling down very harshly... greetz,

I'm using ZOE which is collecting & indexing emails for me. You can make it run via SSL, it runs Java. Works pretty well.

just go and quickly mirror it - before it's too late! :-)
