    Yes but most (Granted a direct in-game currency to real world money has happened before) games don't condone it, at the very least or they actively try to stop it.

    Well at least I'll be gaining a tab browser at work now. Since the Air Force considers FF to be a security risk. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

    You'll also be able to tell what percentage of Windows users have autmatic updates on.

    Just wanted to say thanks and mention to to those Active duty people that had there data stolen in the VA theft that they (Experion) also have an Active Duty alert thats valid for 1 year (added bonus is you wont get pre-approved credit cards for 2 years).....

    I though the new consoles (I know the 360 was described as such in an Ars article) favored graphical power. That they really didn't offer any advances useable in more sophisticated AI or such? Bigger and better graphics are nice, don't get me wrong, but are we really going to actually see anything fresh and new until the hardware is capable of doing more than eye candy?

    Is seeing ads on games you're paying a subscription on. Take a look at Planet Side, Anarchy Online, and The Matrix Online. With the exception of AO, ads don't affect the subscription users are paying. I know that there are plenty of things people currently pay a subscription for plus get ads: Cable TV, Magazines etc... That doesn't mean I have to accept it blindly...

    You want to stop piracy? Stop making it so profitable for pirates. Lower your prices to the point were piracy isn't profitable anymore. How you do that is something I really dont have a clue on, but hey thats not my problem.

    Eve Online. Sci-fi Space themed MMOG with no level/no grind, excellent player based market, balanced semi consentual pvp.

    You can do anything you want when you want without feeling like your falling behind.

    Fair enough. Up to now all you've mentioned has been numbers. A large amount of numbers mine you but still thats all there is. Is there anyway that the stock market cant compare to the amount information needed to render a dynamic 3 dimensional world with 10s of thousands of individuals inhabitants not counting the NPCs?

    Or that fact the stock market isn't as dynamic, complex as current MMOGs. And also not a virtual 3d world with thousands of inhabitants on at any given time getting regularly patched with new bug inducing content.

    You know a stock market MMORPG might be a good idea, hell I'd welcome anything that isn't another "me too" fantasy MMOG. Think about it, no classes, no levels, just your wits and some start up money you inherited or something. I'd pay good money for that...

    More on topic: There main selling point seems to be the ability to run more than one type of game for different end user hardware. Which would lower may lower the cost to MMORPG currently available and developing in the future, so I guess we will be seeing even more MMORPG.... More is not always better......

    until it becomes an issue for non technical people (Joe Blow) and that won't happen until they patent something more insanely stupid than what currently has been patented and the Patent office upholds it.

    And I for one don't see that happening....

    Maybe somebody should hire Jack Thompson to sue the patent office; he just might be the only lawyer fanatically stupid enough to do it.

    as to why there seems to be more "casual" gamers.

    1. More homes have PCs now. Do you really think that people are not going to take advantage of all the features of a PC?

    2. There is little to no social stigma left to playing PC games.

    3. Lack of time in our daily lives. (When you grow up and have a family you cant spend 8 hours a day 7 days a week playing your favorite games)

    This shouldn't be surpriseing if anything the casual gamer market should continue growing.
