The/. article points to www.mturk.com. Amazon points to http://mturk.amazon.com./ For those just learning to read, know that these are TWO DIFFERENT SITES. Get it straight. The/. site is NOT Amazon.com. I don't know how this got by Zonk's radar. WTF? G0ddamn scammers.
Paul Thurrott's a would-be-social-engineerist wanker.
He scatters emotionally-charged words like 'weird', 'strangely', 'bizarre', 'miserable', 'segregated', and 'cheap' throughout his propaganda -- er, I mean, article -- as if putting those words in close proximity to the words 'Tiger' would magically make us all believe his claim that Tiger is a 'minor' upgrade.
I can easily picture Firefly's Inara dressed as WW and kicking butt. She'd be perfect! Of course, she'd have to gain 20 pounds to fill out those legendary thunderthighs;)
Take the amount of minutes in a day that you're actually getting crap done, and divide by the number of minutes you spend troubleshooting the machine. My iMac G4 with OS X runs between 95 and 99; my Windows machine, less than 50.
How can we, as a society, even think of delegating care of a child to a toy? It's bad enough we expect TV to babysit them. Now we're going to ask Teddy Ruxpin to keep them from falling into the swimming pool?! Whose responsibility ARE children, anyway, if not their parents'?
How clever have we become, that if we acquire a skill via a video game, we can also use that skill away from the computer?
It's perfect: the melding of a false sense of accomplishment with a REAL sense of accomplishment. F'ing off AND learning. Doing by not doing. It's quite zen, actually, and a good use of processor time.
1) Have you ever set up a redirect? 2) Don't you find it odd that Amazon would direct traffic away from their domain?
I feel like I'm trying to be heard over the "me too"s of a million AOL users. Why is this scam still on the /. front page?!?
I'm with you. Why is this still on the /. front page, posing as a real site with Zonk's personal blessing? WTF?

Why is this article posted as "news"? Is it April Fool's already?

The guy disgusts me. Go check out the complete list of 'minor' upgrades at http://www.apple.com/macosx/newfeatures/newfeature s.html and judge for yourself.

'...the idea of hereditary legislators is as absurd as a hereditary mathematician -- as absurd as a hereditary poet laureate.'
How am I supposed to kick my husband's a$$ if I don't practice?
Point noted, jackanapes.

Why waste time choosing the sex? How about choosing the IQ? 'ello?!
Yes - Ender's Game is the next book you are going to buy from Amazon.com.
I've got my fingers crossed!!

May I also suggest the following lightweight, small, REAL instruments:
