    IMHO, it's better that Adobe not support it, rather than buy a license from Nikon. What if other camera companies decide to follow Nikon's example, and charge a large fee for the license? Then, only the wealthy (i.e. not free like Gimp) software companies can afford to support these cameras.

    I don't like M$ as much as the next admin, but I have over 150 XP machines, every one of them with SP2 and I didn't have any problems. I used M$ software update server to roll it out and nobody even noticed. The only thing I had to do was open a port for our remote control software and IM.

    I completely agree with you. I'm just saying Kevin was convited for, basically, breaking and entering (with computers) and theft (of data), not to mention the FBI manhunt. 9 years for spam is a bit much, especially compared with other crimes, such as rape.

    Kevin Mitnic was in jail for what, 7 years (guessing)? To put it in comparison with 9 years for 'annoying' emails. I don't like spam either, but 9 is a bit much.

    Managers with true data centers probably would not go for a 16-way VIA database server... A faster server saves the company more money with productivity than lower air conditioning costs would.

    I think the article did mention several "luggables" that did not have batteries, they did have their own screen, but the IIc could be plugged into a TV. (I still have the IIc color monitor)

    I had an Apple IIC with a handle and a nylon case to put it in. Doesn't that make it portable?

    Pardon my ignorance, but I do not have VOIP, what happens if the power is out? I'm sure my cable modem will not work without power and no internet connection means to VOIP. If you have a landline phone, not cordless, you could still dial 911.
