Bimbo Newton Crosby, because if they are using GTK its already fucked as it won't work on Windows without installing the GTK crap which means NO libraries, NO schools, NO offices, NO places where users aren't allowed to run as admin and install whatever they want.

If they are using GTK (haven't looked at the roadmap so I don't know for sure) then I label this epic fail and a waste of time. the whole point of web based is that it will work with any modern browser and THAT'S IT. If I have to install a bunch of crap to make it work? Its not web based, its just bullshit.

Make it to where it works in a browser that has standard features like Firefox/Opera/Chrome (not counting IE as those guys tend to be pretty far behind the curve and when they do implement its the "IE version" that rarely works 100% correctly) and THEN you'll have something worth noting. But nobody is gonna let users just dump GTK on everything just so LO web edition will work. Sorry but that is just a bad idea and a hack way to do it.

1.-Child rapist meets other child rapists in backroom bulletin board. The way they have this thing set up it is damned near impossible for cops to get in BTW, as the entrance fee is video of you raping a kid with an object THEY tell you to insert in the video and you have X amount of time, not enough to Hollywood it and these freaks have all the stuff floating around the net. 2.-Rapists begin exchanging encrypted DVDs through mail. One of them digitizes the faces out if they haven't already been done. Here is where they fuck up as seeing the kid's face gets them off so they NEVER digitize over the kid's face, the most they do is have her/him wear a mask. 3.-Someone in the group uploads it to one of the backroom sites and HERE is where those that sell CP get it. There are a few that "rent" kids in third world countries for filming, but that is rare, mostly it is gotten from these backroom sites. 4.-Video then hits P2P and HERE is where the retards get it.

Notice how money didn't play shit in this exchange? According to my friend while there are sites in third world countries making money off this shit they are exploiting what is already out there and the retards almost never spend a dime, its all P2P and crap they get off back alley sites. He says he sees the same CP stuff day after day after day and some of it is as old as the 1960s, it has just been passed around and around. The few new ones they find on social retards are from the sites I mentioned above where a REAL rapist has loaded up his video for BRAGGING rights NOT for pay. For these guys its "look what I've got!" not "how much will you pay me?" which is why he said tracking these guys down is a bitch. Money leaves a pretty big trail to follow, anon uploads? Not so much.

So please spare us the same tired old meme they used for alcohol and drugs before it, as like in those cases its bullshit.

Couple this with the fact that HD cams are dropping in price like mad, for the majority of folks the cams are ALREADY "good enough" at around 7MP and like Kodachrome you have a tech that made really pretty pictures that simply isn't used anymore. Kinda like how LPs often sound better than CDs thanks to being pretty immune to the loudness craze but nobody buys LPs so it really don't matter.

Oh it wasn't that they were hard, far from it and thanks to the frankly game breaking plasmids one could just plow through that game even on the hardest difficulty no problem. no the problem was they broke game flow and took a big poo on what COULD have been a truly great experience. For example did you ever try to just sit back in a good position and observe your enemies, like you could do in Bioshock I? What would happen is little Suzy Fudnucker on your back would start bitching her ass off that you weren't dragging her ass to the next corpse.

Now lets talk about the "bad guy" Sophia Lamb. No be honest, didn't you want to be able to just stop wherever you were, walk straight up to that bitch and ram your drill down her throat so she would just SHUT THE FUCK UP with her CONSTANT mouthing off? Ryan would pop on once in a while in the first one, mainly it was Atlas and only when he had a bit of backstory or a mission, and when the big reveal came that just made what he said all the more relevant because it ALL had double meaning. with Lamb it was just one looooong "I'm right, you're wrong, go fuck yourself Delta' rant. I had a friend who had NEVER played a bioshock game, had him play BII and in less than 4 minutes he was "How can I kill the bitch? is there a quick way to kill the bitch? maybe an off button on her big fucking mouth?"

Finally lets talk plasmids. Plasmids in the first game was unbalanced but in the second game it was just fucking unreal. my oldest just ramped up ElectroShock and stomped the game. never touched a single other plasmid, just used that single one and slaughtered everyone. Myself I found that hypo was so badly overpowered that once ramped up i just walked around with a big daddy and let them take care of everything, I could just sit in the corner. No real need to be cool and set up traps like in the first one, you were just too overpowered.

So I'd say they took a shit. it wasn't a Kane and Lynch super explosive shit, but just a big fat turd average poo. That game COULD have been fucking awesome, the little sister could have made the "moral choice" matter by ramping up every little sister kill but instead they made her random, having both the weapon and plasmids could have made for some kick ass super combos instead they made all the plasmids (except for a few "joke" plasmids like swarm and decoy) so overpowered you could literally break the game and play like you had cheats on from less than half the game in by simply focusing on one of the early plasmids, and finally instead of having the missions build into this huge overarching story like the first it ended up just a bunch of fetch quests that were more annoying than anything.

Don't get me wrong, fun could still be had, but it was 'lame horror movie MST3K' fun when it could have been 'Dark Knight this is kick fucking ass you gotta tell all your friends' fun.

No I'd say the bigger idea is the one AMD is running right now with Brazos and that is treat the CPU and GPU as one unit and split the workloads to the appropriate subsection. Running video/audio? dump that into the GPU. Running a browser? that goes on the CPU.

By doing that one can really lower the power and increase battery life without "pulling an Atom" and making the machine feel like a slug. if you haven't tried the EEE 1215B yet you really should. 6 hours on a battery and still feels snappy and you can load that baby up with 8Gb of RAM and have the whole thing for $340. Well I have a friend that works in the state crime lab on this very subject and he says many they bust (and the prosecutors give insanely huge sentences to) are what he calls "social retards" that frankly aren't a threat to anyone, young or old. One they busted hadn't even left his home since 1997, and when touched would freak and screech like a wounded animal. they ended up having to tranq him to get him out the home. he got 65 years BTW thanks to the several thousand CP pics he had.

The way he explained it to me was that these social retards don't interact with ANYBODY if they can help it, instead they live their entire "life" if you want to call it that, on their machines looking at porn. And just like a junkie who needs a larger fix to keep his habit these retards will need worse and worse porn to keep being able to even get it up. He said the porn they find ALWAYS follows a set pattern as well. First it is straight, then straight fetish (stockings, anal, gangbang, etc) followed by trannies, then B&D/S&M, then finally bestiality and CP. He also said you will find literally pounds and pounds of porn, but its all the same shit that has been floating around the net since the days of bulletin boards.

So just from what he has seen I'd say there is your proof there are plenty that can have a fantasy and not act on it, hell you could have put "tranq boy" into a room with a naked 9 year old and he could have curled up into a ball in the corner and screeched. I agree with him that the police would be a better use if they simply got shrinks for the social retards and instead focus manpower on the scum that actually hunt kids, but sadly the prosecutors want big busts as those make big headlines and they don't get big busts when it comes to actual child rapists as it can takes sometimes years to track them down. Sadly I doubt this will ever change as nobody has the guts to say anything that could come out as "being soft on CP" so they'll just waste resources chasing retards while the real hunter scum won't get busted unless their victims come forward.

Oh I agree 100% that drones should be the ultimate goal, but we don't seem to be headed that way. we really don't have any drones, either those being shown or those being shown as being in the pipe, that could really go head to head with even an F15 much less one of the new Su series or MiGs. It really doesn't help to have 1000 drones if what it ends up is another turkey shoot.

The problem IMHO again is the goat herder issue. The drones are being designed to fly over goat herders for hours on end and drones simply aren't really being built for power and speed and combat effectiveness. We have let the MIC become this bloated pile of shit that is more concerned with filling their pockets and maximizing profits than with making sure we can rule the skies.

If it were me I'd kill the new Ford AC if it can't get done in a year, kill any new carriers, and start designing a drone carrier of the future. Also kill the F35 (any way you look at it like the F22 it is simply too expensive for too little performance) and be spending that money instead not only on the most cutting edge air superiority drones we can come up with but also work our asses off on ground to air missile defense to make sure if our enemies DO end up with much better fighters they simply won't be able to capitalize by using them to rule the skies.

But I just don't see any of this coming about, because both the USAF wants to continue like it is 1975 and because the MIC makes out hand over fist by stretching these projects out to infinity and cranking up the cost overruns. It is inefficient, wasteful, and in the end business as usual simply isn't gonna work with the battlefield of tomorrow. Again our current situation reminds me of the Axis at the start of WWII. they had gotten complacent fighting technologically inferior enemies or enemies with simply not enough resources to fight back (like the Japs in China, or the Germans with Poland and France) and all it is gonna take is a lean and mean enemy that doesn't play the game as we think it ought to be played to hand us a good old fashioned ass whooping.

Again look att WWII, specifically the start. The Wildcat couldn't turn like the Zero, and it sure as hell couldn't beat it on speed, yet we dominated them almost from the start, why? Because you had American manufacturers coming from the automobile industry building "flying trucks" that were reliable as hell and took insane amounts of punishment, and you had pilots like O' Hare and Flatley taking their own time and initiative to come up with air to air tactics that maximized our strengths and minimized the aircraft's weaknesses. We just don't think "outside the box" anymore, and ultimately i think that is gonna hurt us down the line.

If you are running a niche OS that cranks out threads like no tomorrow frankly you should look at one of those Magny Cours Opterons 4 CPU slot systems. That will give you 48 cores to crank it out. Most people? total overkill.

I can tell you with nearly 30 years building and selling PCs that this is what the average person does: Facebook, flash videos, webmail, surfing, light gaming, webcams, editing pictures, music, basic stuff. And for THESE folks? Brazos is like heaven.

Hell I'd consider myself more of a hardcore guy than an average user but I found when I'm out and about and need a computer? Its NOT because I suddenly need to transcode a video! its because I need net access to download files for a customer, I need to check my webmail, I'm stuck somewhere and want to watch a movie or maybe even do a little tweaking on some songs I've been working on with Audacity. So for MY needs for a mobile device? My Brazos based EEE with ExpressGate is like paradise. If I need to do something that takes a full OS I get 6 hours on the battery and Win 7 X64 with 8Gb of RAM, and if I just need the web I get 8 hours, in a highly mobile device for $340!

So I'd say it all comes down to finding the right tool from the job, and for the masses these new APUs are where it is at. Plenty of performance in daily tasks, plenty of battery life on mobile devices, but at the same time giving a better 'feel" and performance than Atom, and of course at a low price which is REALLY appealing for the masses.

It just means that guys like you aren't the mainstream. If you want mobile I'd look at one of the nice Phenom II quad laptops (quite affordable) and on the desktop either a Thuban 6 core or maybe the new 8 core APUs. If you want all the features it is AMD or be ready to empty that wallet Fuzzy.

That said although I won't be having ANY Intel chips in my shop (because I don't reward criminal behavior and the bribery and compiler rigging frankly made MSFT look like choirboys by comparison and I thought MSFT should have been broken up) I would wait probably 6 months to a year before switching to Bulldozer on the desktop. The bang for the buck on the AM3 chips is just too good right now. I have been seeing Thuban 6 cores on sale for less than $130 and have been building nice quad cores for my customers and still making a decent profit for $450. It always takes AMD awhile to ramp up the chips and right now the early adopters will keep the price higher than Thuban and Deneb, which are both nice chips. You can get a nice Deneb for less than $500 for the whole smash, upgrade to Thuban later, and by the time you decide you need more cores they'll have the 16 core FX chips out. Right now the extra premium for two cores just isn't worth it.

Truly kick ass battery life, dual core with Radeon GPU, extremely low heat, quiet as a churchmouse, I liked the ones I sold enough I retired my MSI Wind and got me an Asus EEE with Brazos. It was done by the AU and UK who are looking into whether to continue support of the F35, and it ain't pretty.

And frankly I don't give a flying crap when their was built, all that means is we have been sucking hind tit for a hell of a lot longer. It was pointed out the latest Su fighter (I believe Su35, not sure of the Su numbering system) is less than 10 years old and has a flyaway of less than 40 million and stomps the living shit out of anything we have.

And I looove how you have the shriveled tiny balls to call someone troll without actually providing proof a single thing they said was wrong. And how about the most important point that space is NOTHING but a vanity project and has been since it was USSR VS USA? Manned space flight into LEO is nothing but a giant fucking money sink, and with THREE wars we simply don't have the money to waste, kay?

Here are how I'd say a good 90%+ of Windows bugs get in: 1.- "ZOMG U got teh viruz! Run "Iz not viruz iz cleanerz!.exe" to kill teh bug ZOMG!" 2.-"want teh hot lezboz? Notice how NONE of the above counted on the browser? hell noticed how none of the above even counted on the OS they were running? Good old social engineering friend, you scare them, offer them sex or something free, and their PC is yours. Hell one of my teachers used to love to tell this story about how he was taking a class on a tour of some security firm and just got tired of listening to the BOFH bullshit by the guy leading the tour. Finally he said "If you think your security is THAT hot, tell you what: you let me loose in this place for TEN MINUTES and I'll be in your system, no problem. If I fail I'll give you a $100 and buy you a steak dinner" and the guy took the bet. 8 minutes later the teacher walked up and handed him over a dozen usernames and passwords, including a couple that had full access to everything. When the guy asked "How could you do that? We make them change their passwords and use complex and blah blah blah" he just started flipping over keyboards and all over the place were sticky notes with usernames and passwords.

In the end the user is always the weakest link and is a hell of a lot easier to crack than any software or OS, so its no wonder why social engineering has gone through the roof. Hell I had an admin friend that ended up being drug before the regional head as the PHB immediately above him wanted him fired because, and I quote: "You have NO RIGHT to tell me whom I can speak to! You will let my emails from Melissa through right this minute or YOU'RE FIRED!". That's right folks, this genius was fighting for the right to infect the system and THAT is the kind of stupid you are up against. MSFT could make the most secure OS in the world but as long as the user has ANY control? Its fucked.

I have a bigger question....who cares? Have anybody seen the latest tests between the F15,F16,F18,F22,F35, and the Russian MiG29, MiG31, and the Su series? Hint: We just got our asses kicked pal! Our planes are too damned expensive (so we can field less of them, like Germany in the 40s) need too much maintenance to keep them flying (Germany again) only unlike Germany who had superior planes ours aren't even worth a shit! I love this quote about the money pit known as the F35: "Compared to the Russian Su series it isn't even a contest. it can't outrun, can't outgun, can't out maneuver the Su in a fight. in every single test the F35 came out short.".

And now the Russians are selling these bad boys to anybody with cash, and honestly? they are damned cheap. I believe it is less than 50 million fly away for the MiG and less than 40 million for the latest Su. So we WILL be facing these planes in the future, the middle east is gonna be overflowing with them. No matter how skilled our pilots are they simply can't win if their plane is underpowered, underperforming, and there isn't enough of them to go around.

We really need to quit worrying about space and fix our POS aircraft fleet ASAP. Here we are building new aircraft carriers when the only planes we have to put on them are 1970s era aircraft that will frankly be blown out of the sky if they go against anything newer. It reminds me of Japan in WWII, where they cranked out aircraft carriers only to put Kate and Zero aircraft on them that had already been so badly stomped by the Wildcat and Dauntless the planes went down so fast it became turkey shoots.

Lets face it folks, if we go up against anything more modern than goat herders hiding in caves we are getting the shit kicked out of us. We need to streamline the process, toss out the old crap, and start over. Given our limited resources man rating another rocket and worrying about "Meatbags in spaaaace!" ATM is simply foolhardy. Worry about covering your ass before you deal with the vanity projects, and that is all space is right now like it or not, its a vanity project.

They say "Its a drop in replacement for Windows!" and when you point out articles like TFA that show if you drop in your system goes to shit? They say "Well duh! By drop in we meant throw out all your hardware and start over with a more expensive system just like the Apple guys do!" Well riddle me THIS friend: Then why the fuck wouldn't I just buy an Apple, where I get better quality, resale, and battery life huh? what do YOU have OTHER than "Free as in freedom, fight the power!" to offer? There you will get to see with your own two eyes Japanese training videos showing 8 and 9 year old kids being taught to use bamboo spears, which were to have grenades strapped to them.

Maybe you can read, perhaps you'd like to explain this? Look at the bottom, see the girls being trained as suicide attackers? Now what did you think we should do, hit them with flamethrowers? grind them up with the 50cals? or do you think we should have surrendered, because from your tone I have to seriously wonder if that isn't what you would have done. With just the attacks up to that point suicide attackers killed over 3000 Americans and wounded another 6000. Tell me did you think those Americans "deserved it"?

Whether you like it or not it is pretty well documented the USA was looking at 350,000 to 500,000 dead if we invaded the home islands. Would you have preferred that? Would you have cheered? Like it or not friend too damned many on BOTH sides were killed by Japanese fanaticism. One million people on Kyushu were eligible. Chance of their survival improved after Hiroshima." Those folks lived because we dropped the bomb. If we hadn't? Actually I'd say it is a VERY GOOD choice, and here is why: Future proofing. How many bought Google TV only to have the media yanked out from under them? What will Roku do if the media companies do the same to them?

The nice thing about an HTPC (which if you go with the new AMD boards are quite cheap, just look up how little you can get a good barebone kit or Brazos unit for) is that if it is on the net you can watch it because unlike with those other units there is NO way to single them out as they ARE PCs, they are just hooked to an HDTV.

Now like I said for the kiddie rooms we went Nbox, as I've had nothing but great luck with those. Built like tanks, never overheat, take major abuse, have easy push buttons on front your average 4 year old can work, just a great little unit. But by building a nice affordable HTPC they not only have an easy way to watch ALL of the Netflix/Hulu content PLUS all the Windows 7 MC Internet TV content, They ALSO have a one stop....media server, jukebox, entertainment center, games machine, web surfer...it really does have a hell of a lot more uses than just hulu or netflix. My customers are now simply ripping their DVDs to their 1Tb+ HDDs so that WMC has all their content on demand, one click and you're good to go.

Between the HTPC and the Nbox for the kiddies my customers can watch a disc one time, rip it, then put it in the closest so they never have to worry about it again AND still have all the Internet content as well. I can tell you I've never had a single complaint from this setup, on the contrary I've had people that only had little netboxes like the WD (which I'm assuming the Roku is like, haven't messed with them) come to me to have their own HTPC built because you have so much more content and so many other things you can do with them. I doubt anyone would be playing Batman:AA on a Roku which is what my customer that bought the latest was doing when I popped in to hook up his new surround sound. He had everyone going "ohhh ahhh" as he kicked some Joker butt,LOL! And that unit cost less than $500 BTW, really nice little quad core.
