It might be that they hire locals too, but all I am saying is that sending Indians there would lower their cost - as low as it can be.
To add to my earlier post, when these companies acquire other companies or start a new company outside India, they are protecting themselves by 'hedging' , for ex, if they were restrictions on outsourcing, they would still have revenue from their outside ventures.
The other Indian sector companies that are looking out for acquisitions are Automobile, Auto Ancillary, Oil & Gas

These days, more Indian companies want to acquire companies outside India. Of course, they will be exporting people so that they can keep the costs down to minimal. This trend is not only applicable to just IT or BPO companies - but to many other sectors. These Indian companies mostly look at European countries as they think US is a bit saturated.

Its the same funda as in a FMCG marketing war, one cuts the price, everyone else has to. There is no other way. So its natural that we will have big and small players wanting a share in the pie.
To add to this, There is book called the The Rule of Three - which says, amongst a number of companies, only three will dominate. More on it at Rule of Three. My three will still be Google, M$ and Yahoo

Unless you can spare a few mb ( > 5-10 mb ) on your device, its really difficult to get a browser with almost full feature functionality on a small footprint device. I am not sure how much Opera takes though.
I think mozilla/firefox allows you to use xlib or gtk when you compile. So, your device must support either one of them - Minimo is gtk based and can be used on a ipaq with GPE environment. A friend has been trying to get firefox running on a handheld based on ARM - takes a bit of time and space - but you get the best browser on your handheld. A bit of optimization in terms of what modules are compiled should help the reduce the size and increase the performance

The IT Act is actually pure trash. They wanted a law and so got in a few so called 'experts' and so we had a IT act. Hardly anyone has been convicted before this. These cases involved obscene mails, photos sent by email. The internet penetration is very low and the police have no clue how to go about it whenever they receive a complaint.
There has not been a REAL BIG problem in terms of a online credit card fraud or a bank fraud. The Baazee thing is blown out of proportion and the arrest of the guy is really sad when some of the central ministers we have are criminals accused of murder and scams. But as we say it here, It happens only in India !
