  1. Re:Slashdot Pseudo-Science, again on Studies Confirm That Bad Boys Get More Girls · · Score: 1

funny, seemed to me like the ac was mostly complaining about the affects of mysogyny on women. this is where i have always read the bad boy good boy thing. guys that don't act mysogynistic don't get laid, why? Because most women that I run in to are waaaaay more mysogynistic than I am. Working at a help desk and being single for the past year I can't begin to explain how miserable it is to have dozens of pretty women flirt with you simply because they think you will fix their computers quicker. Fuck that, women are on a probationary period with me, it sucks but I don't put up with shit. last girlfriend wanted to know why I logged on to the internet after i told her i was going to bed, simple yea, but we broke up over it. I could have easily explained myself, but why? She's online all the fuckin' time, why is she so paranoid and insecure? What's she doing online? Yea, I don't need to be forgiven for that shit. I wasn't brought up to treat women like a lesser species, I've discovered through trial and error that most (yes most) women would rather hear about how nice their tits are than have someone ask about their day at work. personally, I'd rather talk about a woman's tits because I get very little reciprocation for emotional support. this isn't really women's fault, they just figure out that the way to control men outside of a relationship is with sex appeal, inside of a relationship they treat men like overgrown 10 year olds. there it is - women are mysogynistic too.

wait. google was there from the beginning of the msft talks and if the board can keep their company the way they want it, make more money in the long run and avoid being butchered by Icahn or Ballmer, then what is wrong with calling it the way it is? Some business people actually hold themselves mildly accountable for their actions. I think that anything's possible--it just seems intuitively wrong. And for every pedophile that experiences porn as encouragement to act out against children, there are probably more that see it as encouragement to stay at home and jerk off a lot. (I have no evidence for this, besides the fact that normal humans have strong urges not to hurt people, and I conclude that most people will not do it.)

It's also very unintuitive that a dog would become hungry at the sound of a bell - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Pavlov. The difference between video games and pornography is that there is a clearly defined physical need that is met while enjoying pornography. Porn addicts have tendencies towards premature ejaculation (masterbating under time constraints), lower levels of arousal (from real women), a general lack of empathy towards their sexual partners, among other things. These people are conditioning themselves to react physiologically to the sight of children in a manner that is not healthy. Possibly foregoing the ability to become aroused by adults. The person's own ability to grasp the difference between reality and fantasy will play big on whether or not they take things too far, but even those that can differentiate are not left in a pleasant situation.

as an aside, try watching porn where the star resembles your S.O. in some way, might help as things get monotonous, but be careful not to become desensitized to his/her real needs, rather than your own supplemented view of him/her.

I made the same amount of money then as I do now, gas has doubled, rent +40% (despite the housing crisis?), and food has gone up about 30-40%. So, yeah, my life is better than it was in the nineties (possibly because the media isn't screaming about how Gen X was going to grow up and rape and murder everyone), but the economy isn't great since those years.

I wonder where you lived during the nineties (silicon valley?), cause where I live right now it's all farms, mills, and construction workers. All but the farmers seem to be hurting right now.
