  1. Dangerous and quite convincing on Phishing Email That Knows Your Address (bbc.com) · · Score: 1

I have to admit, I received such an email and for a few seconds I was quite concerned. I've never had one of these attempts not only pass my spam filter, but also provide my home address. I can imagine many people falling for this one. Ideally contact your family members to advise them never to click anything in such an email.

Sweeping generalisation of all Mac users. You can't have a Mac story on Slashdot without ignorant posts like yours. It's such a pity.

  8. Word count on OpenOffice 3.1 Released · · Score: 5, Interesting

Does it offer the ability to have an auto-updating word count in the status bar yet? It's absolutely essential to many people, particularly copywriters who are paid to hit a particular word count. It seems like such a trivial thing to implement and has been requested many times.

Your post almost portrayed you as being quite tolerant, but you came across as being simply intolerant of anyone with a different opinion than your own. Your "blind desperate hope" comment suggests this. I happen to believe in reincarnation, but I don't force it on anyone, neither do I make condescending remarks about people who believe otherwise. Perhaps you should consider the same.
