Yeah, I was mistaken in my thinking that the address bar was for addresses. Silly me. What an age we live in. I just wonder why the new Firefox has a URL field AND a search field. Personally, I don't care. I'm going back to Firefox 2.x, and if that fails, then unfortunately MS have won the browser war again.

And even after all these comments, FF3 has still wrecked my browsing experience. I thought I could run both versions, but no, the beta seems to overwrite the decent version of Firefox. If it doesn't, then I still have to go through a lot of crap to uninstall and etc. Screw this. Screw Mozilla. I'm wondering who they were listening to when they implemented this.

To be honest, I hate it. WTF have they done with my handy URL bar? It used to be a place where I could type "slas" and get the slashdot URL come up. Even worse for "news", as it "handily suggests" all the pages in my history that have "slas" or "news" in my history.

Heads up for all those trying Firefox 3 is Oldbar. I suggest you get it if you don't like the new 'innovations' by Mozilla Corp.

I upgraded my case recently. Went from a little box thing that I'd hacked pieces out of over the past eight years, to a brand new things with fans and perspex all over the place. It's massive too, I could easily fit my old box inside it with plenty of room to spare. The thing that surprised me most, was even with a 320mm fan on the side, a 240mm on the front and top - it's quieter. The only thing that REALLY bugs me is the LEDs now. Stupid things light up my room.

It's much more commonplace now, and has been for a few years. I believe Apple ship a water cooled G5. That said, sometimes the cost outweighs the performance. My friend has the same system as me pretty much, but he's watercooled his CPU and done some other tricks. He spent £150 (at least) on his cooling system. I've bought replacement fans, my CPU cooler is Zalman. It was a real bastard to get on, but my CPU idles at only 5c above his and my load temp is about 15c higher. He's kinda regretting spending the extra money now.

I'm not sure this would even be that easy for Google to fix. Sure, they could probably not accept GET requests using the btnI parameter, but don't some things pretty much rely on the parameter? Firefox for instance uses a form of "I'm feeling lucky" when you enter words into the address bar and press enter, I do not know if Firefox explicitly calls btnI, it might have another method.

I don't mind clicking a goatse link so much, as I can just roll my eyes and press the 'back' button. The last measure link that was posted using the same method last week was worse, even on Ubuntu I had to kill the firefox process. Its an interesting exploit though, but my advice will simply be to be cautious of long google links now.
