"...will be able to sample a huge range of titles at prices that won't break the bank."
Yeah, breaking the bank will be when NextGen consoles come out. I know I will get bombarded with, "every generation console is high priced when they first come out..." but, this round of NextGen I feel will be hitting in between $350 and $450 for console units. That to me is breaking the bank. Hell, a new cheap yet up to date computer with no monitor hangs aound the $350 price tage.
I don't know about most women, but mine likes role-playing... Playing the role of master bitch: Clean up, there are mountain dew cans all over, when are your friends leaving, they have been here 8 hours. What's so fun about Halo anyways. Don't they have homes to go home to? Why are you so loud. Why don't you do something constructive... etc etc etc
Now, MTV (Music television) has a channel, that doesn't play music anymore. Jump ahead to branding games; will they not be games anymore, but interactive commercials that you pay for?
which compels consumers to choose their media player and download it from the Internet.' Could this open some eyes and increase interest in alternative (Linux, Mac) offerings?"
I didn't think the media player was the onlything keeping users of Windows XP or any version. To me, it is compatability with current programs such as Office and Adobe products, and there are attractive alternatives. Media players? Eh, there are 100s of media players for all platforms, it's not that big of deal.
What I don't understand is why they were $30 in the first place, and why they are $20 now. They should be less than $10 for the quality of video, lack of extras, and viewable only on a small screen. If the PS3 has UMD reader, it will still be crappy video on a TV, after touting it's dual HD display output capabiliy.
It would be nice for PSP to have video out so you can watch these movies on a larger screen, shared with people. I don't see spending $20 for the DVD, then $20 to have a single person version. Heh, UNIVERSAL Media Disc.
Man, I have bought albums on cassette, then CD, then the remastered CD, then the DVD Audio... then MP3... and I am young, I am sure there are some of you that had some on record and 8-track...
Why does something open source / free have to always be about money? I have never heard the term Firefox before the Firefox browser (not saying something of Firefox didn't exist).
Also, why does it take over a year or so to come about?
I think there is too much marriages going on... the games are going to be filled with crappy music, they will be littered with ads ingame, flashed in our faces on TV... but, will any games actually be any good? It's all over-hyped.
How will they know there are expansions!? There better be in-game ads! You know they don't leave the PC, shut the game down to read / watch news, they just don't get up, even to go to the bathroom or order a pizza.
"...The ruling applies to companies using logging as a means to track employees."
Was there a performance issue for this coworker? You are on company machines, I don't see a problem with it.
"He says schools want a way to minimize the impact of music downloads on their networks and encourage students to shift toward legal downloads."
It just takes one student sys admin with access to the whole freaking library, and there you have it, piracy at it's best.

Good thing she doesn't read Slashdot
I didn't read the full article earlier, was this one of the top 125 Big Science questions?
Man, I don't even go home, I am my own monitor! If I get hot, something's wrong... wait, you mean, you guys actually get to go home?
HOw about a phone that I can use in my kitchen without roaming from my livingroom!
Now, MTV (Music television) has a channel, that doesn't play music anymore. Jump ahead to branding games; will they not be games anymore, but interactive commercials that you pay for?
I read that as, it will cost you more in the end; if you think prices are high now, just wait..!
You have been voted out, please go use commercial software now.
That would be a real tribe...
Just Friday a friend and I hit up the Netplay feature in SNES9x, and played Mario Kart for an hour. It was a blast.
I would go for quick fun games wrather than long drawn out games you can't finish on your lunch hour / half hour.

Now we will find out if any of these jokes will be *FUNNY*

Google sounds like the place I would love to work. They need to open an office in Chicago =)
Wouldn't their government then just block access to certain servers / sites / blogs?

Does that mean the earth is spinning faster? It does seem like our days are shorter...
That's why I said they just don't get up, even to go to the bathroom or order a pizza.
/Pizza command. That was the whole joke. Now you went and ruined it!
I know about the
