  1. Re:Analog switchoff on You Say You Want A Revolution? · · Score: 1

Digital TV doesn't have a thing to do w/ HDTV. Even after the switch-off, hypotethetically (though hopefully not,) you can still buy a digital non-HD television. Digital != HD So you're deadlines pointless. And regardless the Revolution will still support progressive scan so your digital television will take advantage. That said, I havea 57" HDTV that I certainly wish I could take advantage of with Revolution. However, I'm more into gameplay than 50gig Blu-Ray DVDs filled with beautifully rendered art to paint over an otherwise completely useless game.

  3. 2007 the magic year? on Windows Vista Delayed Again · · Score: 1

I seem to remember reading articles related to MS' anti-trust suit that indicated that many of the restrictions in their settlement ended in 2007. Anyone else recall that? At the time (about 2 years ago) I predicted Longhorn/Vista would be delayed until 2007 if that were the case and have repeated that assertion several times. I come home from work today to find e-mails from a number of friends congratulating me on a prediction made a long time ago. If true it should be no surprise the length of time between OS releases.

Considering the only service offered by Xbox Live for $50 is matchmaking, a free system isn't so hard to fathom. You can pay all you want but it won't improve your latency, you're connected to one of the players, not xbox live.

  5. Revolution on Two-Player Games for Mixed Skill Level Players? · · Score: 1

I hate to be a fan-boy, but these are exactly the reasons why a system like the Nintendo Revolution is going to be a huge hit (if the controller is adequately sensitive.) The input method just begs for more puzzle-solving, weird-task executing gameplay, and certainly the controller will be more intuitive and accessible than trying to get your girlfriend to learn WASD or explaining how to hit that stupid little white button on your xbox while clicking the right thumbstick.
