I used RegisterFly. I transfered my domain from another registrar to them and it was really easy. They also have a lot of good deals. When you transfer, they give you the time left on your domain before you have to renew it plus another year.
They had a special a few days ago for $4.95 transfers if you enter the code 'CLIENTREWARDS'. Not sure if it still works though.
Just got off the phone. Took about 10 minutes of being on hold and 2 minutes of talking. I told her I wanted to cancel my account, she asked for my username, last name, DOB and last 4 digits of my CC. She then asked why I wanted to cancel and I told her I didn't have internet access anymore and she told me it was canceled.
Either I got really, really lucky or this isn't the end of it.
Unfortunately, I signed up for a trial at true.com. I did the suspension thing the guy talks about in his article, but I made sure to read the whole page to find out I need to cancel it by calling them. I'm going to call tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it.
There's quite a few computer classes at my school, though none of them involve programming. They have all these wacky names like Computer Applications, but they should be called: Typing, Office 98, Dreamweaver, iMovie. Those are about the only things covered in our 6 computer classes. When I first got my class sheet for High School when I was in 8th grade, I hoped for some type of programming class, but alas, there was none:(
Some random guy came over to our house about 5-6 years ago after my dad moved out and asked about our tower that my dad didn't bother to take with him. He told us that he'd take it to his house and check it out and make sure it still worked and give us a price etc.
We haven't heard from him since.
But anyways, he must be pretty lucky: I've been using this service for quite some time without any problem. Rain and storms do not affect the speed in any way I could notice.
Our old antenna (not the one mentioned above) got owned by lightning.
