It just depends on what level you're referring to. At the state level it is largely majority-rule thus democratic. At the national level, it is not purely democratic style majority rule; it is a Republic form of representation for each state. It is true that all states are Federally organized as equals among each other. But that's more a question of how they are organized not how much voting influence each has.

All that aside, it's the Democrat party, people. Not the Democratic party.

I've changed my mind slightly on this topic after I read about a guy who knew the Feds were trying to keep tabs on him. He publicly shared his geo-information for literally everywhere he went. Blogged publicly about everything he did and everyone he talked to. Tweeted about every little thing he did. And he had as many friends as would have him. This put his entire life out for the public record. This kept the Feds from privately nabbing him and then making up their own story about his life and all of the insidious things they wanted to finger him for.

I, now, just assume that if the Feds want to get me they will. If they want any info about me they can get it. So who am I fooling by hiding my activity? I would only be making it easier for them to fabricate the narrative of my life and then pin it on me. A very private lifestyle makes it easy for them to get away with it since nobody knows anything about me and could prove otherwise.

So now I love Google and everything Google Apps. I love my Android phone. I think I'm sort of boring so I'm not the type who uses Facebook much anyway (but I do have an account). I've got a Twitter account but have never really gotten into tweeting. My best defense of my normal, innocent life is for me to be social and use the Internet to control and communicate the narrative of my life.

Yea, it's kind of weird. You'll be using an app and this message will pop up blocking the entire screen. And you can't get back to what you were in the middle of till you acknowledge the pop-up. After you've dealt with the pop up you can resume what you just got interrupted from doing. Then when you exit the app you were in you have to remember all the texts/emails/etc that popped up and interrupted what you were previously working on. Then you have to click into each app that alerted you and find who & what you need to reply to one at a time app-by-app. If you forgot an alert, well, it just get's overlooked. There's no single place where all the alerts are collected so you can see them all together and work through them or clear them out.

It doesn't seem like it would be that hard for Apple to implement it. I speculate that they are trying to figure out how to get even easier than Android for bragging rights but are coming up short since Android's notification system is easy, simple and powerful.

Wikipedia does not hold control of every detail this tightly. They encourage outsiders to influence everything about the site and it's content. Same thing with Android. Here's something to consider... today if somebody steals your laptop they get all of your docs, passwords, email (if you use an email client) and everything else stored locally. In a cloud-based situation none of your docs were stored locally. So only the physical machine is lost and none of your data was stolen.
