It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. Replace the word "babies" with "Jews" and your argument would no doubt change. I don't advocate violence, but I agree with the parent post that there is no moral equivalence between Tiller and these Islamists vowing to kill the South Park guys. It's not a stretch to compare unborn babies to Jews, at which point we are rightly outraged. I find Tiller similar to those abolishionists who killed slave owners in the lead-up to the civil war. It's murder, it's illegal, it's not something I would condone, but I can understand the motives.

I think I can appreciate at least some of what you're saying. But in this particular case Apple is not preventing you from running whatever app you want on your iPhone. It just chooses not to accept some particular apps (and hopefully applies the rules fairly to all participants) for use/sale in its app store.

"I don't like any personal computer (handheld or otherwise) that limits content access for reasonable adults."

That's the crux of the matter, they have chosen to limit how content can be distributed and have (legally) chosen what content they deem appropriate (just as a pet store isn't required to carry every type of animal). I don't own any Apple products myself, but that's my understanding. Maybe I'm in over my head here. I assume you can write your own app and share it with friends.

I would have voted for him if he had won the primary. I think he felt a bit used by the Bush administration (perhaps rightly so) which led to a bit of a rift later in his cabinet position, but I still feel he's a good middle-ground candidate. He's spent enough time in the military that he's not naive on defense.

I picked up swimming 4 years ago. I've been able to keep it doing it 2-3x a week for a little over an hour at a time. It's a coached group workout so we get pushed to get our heart rates up and the resistance of the water builds muscle mass while being low-impact on the joints. I highly recommend it. At the rate I swim now I burn roughly 1000 calories a workout. I managed to lose 15 pounds and I have the satisfaction of knowing I could swim 2 miles without stopping if I had to.
