Those blogs (LGF, Powerline) are crap, and it has nothing to do with my biases. They post completely one-sided information mixed with delusional rantings.C
I wasn't aware that a blog needed to be two sided. I think you're the one that's delusional.
Until now, purchasing a TFT has been a gamble, given that dead pixels, while extremely annoying, did not necessarily entitle the consumer to a replacement monitor
Whatever. Philips have been offering a zero dead pixel guarantee on all their DVI monitors for years. They only cost $20 - $50 more than the cheapo analogue ones and here in NZ they also come with a 3 year on site warranty.
If this is a true laser, you _cannot_ see the beam unless is it being used in a diffusive atmosphere (dusty, lots of vapour, etc).
Wrong. The atmosphere generally has quite a bit of dust, water vapour etc. You can see the entirety of the green laser at night because our eyes are more senstive to green light compared to red light.
However, I cannot talk on a cell phone very long because it causes the muscles in my face to spasm and/or hurt - not a sharp pain, but noticeable. It was WAY worse with the 800 Mhz phone than with my 2.4 GHz phone, but there definitely is an effect. I limit my calls to about 5 min.
I've just recently started using wifi devices regularly and I generally use wifi for a much longer time than I do cellphones. I kindda worry about it a bit. Does wifi broadcast all the time or just when data is sent?
Does anyone else worry about using wifi notebooks/tablets on their laps?
1. Google performs several possible searches for each key you press
Very unlikely.
2. Google already knows the estimated number of results for millions of queries
More likely....and they already "know" those numbers because they use it in their normal search. It doesn't require computatioinal power to get those numbers, just time. And the lookup for those numbers should be reasonable fast (hash lookup or whatever).
Right...because if they didn't use GPS on 9/11, they never will. All future attacks will be exactly like all previous attacks. They should never plan for "unlikely events". I mean, what are the chances that terrorist will use any means that they see aren't secured to launch an attack if they haven't used it before?
Right and the rest of the world don't get to benefit from the side effects of America's production. We don't need no stinkin' yankee computers or stinkin' yankee internet!
Oh right......because the danger of being shot and killed (rather than just having a broken robot) will make you less likely to want to shoot anything that moves.

spelling issues aside, they can't.

Oh sure, I'll just use Slashdot members as an example of how stupid Americans won't use FireFox then. We're just so cool an anti-American d00d.
The difference between Americans and Chinese is they realise they are being screwed, where as Americans dont seem to have a fucking clue...
Funny how you linked to Slashdot, an American site full of Americans who actually agree with you as proof that Americans are stupid.
All that self congratulatory American hating fueled wanking must really bruise your penis.
I'm sure you mean Mb (megabits) not MB (megabytes) :)
whoops, xml error, i know. i'm used to writing range tags.
Copyright is evil. Information wants to be free. Something about beer. Let the guy go! blah blah blah

:)
Who are you talking to? Boss? girlfriend? wife?
Wifi uses the a 2.4GHz (microwave) signal doesn't it?
slain = skin
damned handwriting recognition!
yeah, microwaves are absorbed by water but dead slain has very little water :(
Cell phone signals can't penetrate skin?! I find that hard to believe!
If you wrapped a cellphone in ham, would it no longer work?

WARNING! DO NOT USE WHILE BATHING OR WHILE HAVING SEX
I think that warning is pretty redundant for most people around here...
um, no it wouldn't. i can't believe you got modded up insightful.
solar sails need to be incredibly light and (as a consequence) thin.
solar sales work on light pressure not by converting light to electricity to drive an engine.
Yeah, it's not like technology gets more and more complicated over time or anything.

Um, so you can get into the bathroom/shower at 7am, get out at 7:30am and end up in a completely different apartment?

This article looks like a slashvertisment for PC Pro Magazine. I see nothing of substance -- you have to buy the magazine to see any of the results.

A list of 100 things to do before you die? On
Yeah, right after "Have Sex"
