From the times of the Atari ST I still have the '10 cm test' in my repertoire.
The Atari had lots of socketed chips inside, and whenever the PC acted a bit weird, I used to lift the thing 10 cm and just let it drop. That was ususally enough to settle the chips a bit better in their sockets and have it work some better afterwards.

In Europe a number of (TV-)publishers (Kirch media in Germany, ITV in the UK) are getting in big financial problems because they invested billions of dollars in sportsrights on the premisse they could earn it back with pay-per-view.
It turns out that the audience just doesn't want to watch football on tv when it costs them by the minute.
I think the situation on the web is the same. Unless the content you use is available for some fixed sum per subscription it will not arouse any significant interest.

The readme nicely states that you can use make bzlilo to install a new kernel if you have a proper /etc/lilo.conf
What it doesn't mention is that in all new distributions the kernel is put in /boot while make bzlilo puts the new kernel in the root dir. You need to edit /etc/lilo.conf first to point the kernel location to the root dir

I think it should be a matter of course that a hardware manufacturer programs the drivers for their stuff. I can only applaud the fact that 3com releases them under the GPL, so the linux community can improve upon them if needed
