No, "rape culture" is not completely imaginary. I grew up in the 70s, when getting women drunk and/or high in order to make it easier to get into their pants was considered all part of the game. In fact, some women would flirt with men in hopes of getting the men to turn them on to drugs, but that's more akin to prostitution than rape. The real problem we have now with rape is that without physical evidence, it becomes a "she said/he said" argument. We need to make victims strong enough to immediately show up and let evidence be collected. Accusing someone of rape 20 years after the fact is kind of bullshit; it makes you look more like you're looking for a payday than looking for justice or looking to protect other people from becoming victims!

California as a state imposes way to many taxes and regulations on business. If you decided you were going to try and start a business in California you might as well just flush your money down the toilet instead.

I left California for Oregon in '95, since it was apparent even back then which direction it was headed. There is a very good reason why even California businesses are moving employees out of California, and your analysis of the problems is spot on.

All Yahoo jobs should just be written off. On the bright side, if this keeps up, people in the Bay Area might someday actually be able to afford housing again! Or at least, the few who still have jobs...

Simple explanation: borderline autistic men and women have been gathered together in the Silicon Valley to work on tech projects, and they are now having sex and breeding. Get the autistic predisposition gene from both parents, and you tend to be much more autistic. Like most syndromes, it is a continuum, and only truly considered "autism" when it becomes bad enough to be disabling. Minor autism is actually an _advantage_ in writing software, as is minor OCD. I think I just have the OCD trait, Unfortunately, I appear to have passed it on to my daughter.
