Of course, Italy no longer uses the Lira; they've switched to the Euro.
Amount that is very reasonable to withdraw from ATM.
Man, you must have a lot more money in your account than I do!;-) Besides, here in the US at least, most ATMs will not allow you to withdraw that much cash. Things may be different in Europe, I've never used an ATM there.
Capital punishment is probably cheaper than keeping somebody in jail for the rest of their lives
Actually, it's not. Because of the series of appeals required in most states, it actually costs more to execute a prisoner than it does to keep them in prison for the rest of their life.
I'd rather be executed than spend that much time behind bars for a crime I didn't commit.
I concur, but there's a flaw in your reasoning none the less: not everyone would agree with us. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that most people would not agree and would rather continue to live even if it is living in prison.
In fact I'd probably off myself in prison if the state was unwilling to do it for me.
Same here. The difference is we would have made the choice die on our own--which is our right as human beings--not have someone do it for us.
Personally, I'm ambivalent about capital punishment. On one hand, I can see some logic in it. But as others here have already said, all criminal justice systems are inherently flawed; perhaps it would be wiser if we did not allow them to make irreversible decisions.
I don't know this for sure but it's probably just a standard USB interface. I know that it will work with any modern Mac without installing a driver so there's a good chance it will work with Linux as well. But just don't go buy one on my advice without trying it out first--I'd feel bad if I were wrong!
Funny how the article you refer to questions if the optical mouse was anything new even in 1999. Not to mention, of course, that said optical mouse was actually developed and built by Logitech and merely marketed under the Microsoft brand anyway.
Compressed air is just a medium in which to store energy. The energy could come from solar panels on your garage. It compresses the air. The air powers you car.
No matter where the power to compress the air comes from, it's still an inefficient way to store energy. Whenever you compress air (or any other gas), a significant portion of the energy gets converted into heat, which is then lost as the air cools down during storage.
Hey, why not? It's only fair, seeing how congressmen always seem to be sticking their tubes into something--office staff, pages, strangers in airport restroom stalls...
Why is that a troll? I really am a truck driver. I have a commercial driver license with doubles, tanker and hazmat endorsements and will prove it to anyone who doubts it.
For what it's worth, here's a text dump from the Apple System Profiler on my MacBook Pro:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
So, it would appear that Apple at least does not equate the number of cores and the number of processors.
You can't, at least not in the U.S., where courts have ruled that you can neither copyright nor patent the alphabet. Things may be different elsewhere.
If the fonts are so indistinguishable should they even be copyrighted?
In the United States, you can't copyright a font, at least, not exactly. You can copyright the name and code you used to create a font but you have no legal recourse if someone buys a copy of your font, prints it out, traces it exactly, creates an identical font and sells it under a different name. That's why you can find so many versions of what looks like the same font, often with similar names. Geneva and Helvetica (Helvetica being a name sometimes applied to Switzerland) comes immediately to mind. Futura and Avant Garde are the same, even if the names are not so obviously similar.

Yeah, tried several--same problem. Finally found one that worked via FTP.
I just tried to download the Live CD--according to my browser's download manager, it was going to take16 hours! No better luck with FTP from the command line either. You may want to wait until tomorrow.
Have you not heard of the International Brotherhood of Laser Devices? Silly human; you will be among the first to bow down to your coherent light overlords.
For the sake of us amateur radio operators, I sure hope so. HF DX has sucked for the last few years.
In Italian Lira, that is about ~ 2k dollars.

In Canada, we put them out on the ice flows
Funny, that's exactly how the health care system works here in the U.S.
So that's what people mean when they say the weather is murderous.
Yeah--for half the year, it's too damned cold in South Dakota to go outside long enough to commit a violent crime.

"IE8 Flaw" is, in and of itself, a redundancy.
I take that back--it's not USB, it's BlueTooth. Duh.

We can always try sticking a tube to Congress
Hey, why not? It's only fair, seeing how congressmen always seem to be sticking their tubes into something--office staff, pages, strangers in airport restroom stalls...
I'm from Canadia you insensitive clod!
Oh, right, sorry. Let me rephrase that, then: Water Found to Be Wet South of Toronto!
Better?

I'm a truck driver.
What about Sketchup Pro for OS X? I think it imports and exports to autocad 2007.
It does, but it's buggy. Dimensions tend to get screwed up or dropped completely, among other things.
Sketchup is nifty for what it is, but it's best used as a stand-alone app.

And haven't formed labor unions.

No, I think said whoosh was right over your head. Read my post again.
Don't you mean Chekov's Dogs?
No, Pavlov. You know, the researcher who developed an obsession to ring bells whenever he saw a dog salivating.
