Which I'm sure if Valve were going to kill steam, they would also send a patch to disconnect the game from needing steam. Because there are a bunch of box set people out there too, not just steam downloaders. While this is rent the game, don't pay up, you can't play.
Well, thats nice for Apache, but this was 12,500 a minute. And if I can use a calculator correctly, thats 60*24*12,500 = 18,000,000 a day. As for your commercial place that does 50M, you might be exaggerating, but anything 2M and over is more than good enough for most businesses. I really wonder how much Exchange can handle now since there is no MS setups or Exchange setups on that list.
Is to actually go some place. Fly from NY to Paris in a matter of and hour. Not just to go up, OOOOO, AAAAAA, the stars, weightlessness, then come back down to the place I just left. I want to actually travel if I end up going into space.
all work and no play makes jack a dull boy all work and no play makes jack a dull boy all work and no play makes jack a dull boy all work and no play makes...
I would rather pay for a service, to get a TV show when I want it, rather than waiting for a certain time for my TIVO to record it so I can watch it later. Let the downloading begin.
Because that was one person getting it to run on a Toshiba laptop, this other guy got it onto a Sony. So two different people, or just two different laptops, getting it onto regular PC hardware.
They are probably going to cut out all the legacy stuff to keep the x86 backwardly compatible. Making it cleaner and faster, but it will still be CISC/x86 type design. No one wants computers that can run DOS or Windows 3.1, we already have enough computers out in the world that can do that. They are going to make chips that are probably XP and above compatible, and this does include Apple Macs in the future. This is the road map that Steve was speaking of at WWDC.
Well, when I was in college, 2000-04, you could only get one license of all MS software, and could only install it on ONE computer. Not get the software, and load up 4, 5, 10 computers. Only the administration or the IT staff could load up multiple computers since the school had a license to do so, but the students were not on the same license. And every school is different, I asked for another copy of Visual Studio for a second computer and I got a flat out NO, only one install. And for the first install, I had to return the install disks after a week or so, or would have been given fine I believe. Of course I made copies, but we were not suppose to have copies either. And this was Penn State. Then, how are you suppose to go from students on a students MS license to an actual company. All that costs to get the correct licenses. You think MS would have let them get away without getting the correct licenses.
I would think that too. Since they started Google back in college, the days when you have no extra money to spend. So the cheapest thing they could find that was well supported was Linux. So they went with it, and it turns out to be a great platform. Enough said.
Um, you havn't asked for a full replacement. You can usually do that after the 3rd time that the same part breaks. In this case, it would have gotten you a brand new iBook with a G4 processor instead of that G3. If it breaks again, ask for a replacement laptop, not a fix of the one you have. Apple will be more than happy to upgrade you to what was equivalant since they are probably running out of G3 logic boards for your iBook.
Same here for me. 10 people, 3 are remote users, so when it comes to a budget, it basically don't go nuts. I basically have this company in maintaince mode after spending about $20,000 over a period of 8 months. All were for projects that made their computers systems better, quicker and more redundant without goving over board on each one. Now I only have to spend money when something happens, I can just go out and buy it and replace whatever broke, and this is how it will be for many years. The question he should be asking himself is, do I know anything that can make my companies computer systems better. How much will I need to pay for them and are they reasonably priced. You basically need to find out what you want to do and about how much it costs, and add some more in for when things break. But like the guy above, I don't have a budget, but I don't go nuts buying and implementing everything I hear.
Yeah, and I thought that class room was call Sunday School at your local church. The reason it should not be in regular schools is due to the fact that everyone is not the same religion. And to teach this Intelligent Design, or any form of unscientific or unprovable thing that is based on a religon/faith, is to force your religion on another person. Which is just wrong.
What is the percentage of people here on earth that die from cancer. If its anything close to 10%, then this is not really a risk, more of a fact of life.
Just think of it this way, 5 MB of code turns into a full CD/DVD of gaming.

Thanks
You insensitive clod!
Um, how bout just taking out the hard drive before sending it back. That is what I did with the company computers that get sent in for servicing.
Who is this guy you speak of?

I don't know, how long do you think it will take to reach Hillary Clinton.

Sorry, hit reply too soon last time.
Its Mac OS X's Rosetta now. Read one of the other posts to your original thread.

Fix what? Its called "User Error", and I can't fix that until I get a better user.
As long as it doesn't pertain to us. =)
