Easy archival of long periods of TV broadcasting or radio broadcasting.
Multiple channels over long periods, even.
Archival of long periods of security taping.
etc.
Honestly? Paint. I've done some searching, but it seems the closest that you can get is Photoshop... I don't want to bother pirating it. I also don't want to use GIMP because it needs to run in X11. That's pretty annoying... As X11 and programs tend to take about 2-3 to load when opening X11. To the point where I might as well just run to my PC and do it, as the only thing I really do is add text or crop. I just want something that doesn't take longer to load than it takes for me to edit a picture.
It really is things like these that make me glad that I live in a very liberal area with intelligent teachers...
I'm in Journalism, and my teacher tells us to push the envelope for what can and cannot be printed. We ran an editorial that was very negative about the way the school ran the vending machines.
The writer was called into the administration after it ran, and the teacher was yelled at by the principal for it. (He says he enjoyed it, actually.)
However... It actually changed the way things were done.
To briefly summarize... X11 allows certain Linux programs to be run on OSX. It has to be run and then programs are run in it. It feels alien compared to all the rest of OSX and has other problems with integrating into OSX.
A version of OOo in Aqua/Quartz would be more integrated into OSX and look better.

Indeed. I'm not a troll. Irfanview is awesome, but I really don't want to plunk down money to do some drawings/scribbles on a picture.

Revealing a flaw != Causing damage to 48,000 computers. There was no intent to reveal a flaw in Blaster nor any of the viruses that get out.
Because it would be a pain in the ass to convert the entire thing to HTML? Just a thought.
It's been capable of handling it all along.

But the point is that the moderators are a comparably small drop in the bucket compared to all the "nobodies" that are checking things.
This is the nature of a wiki, though. Wikis aren't "policed" except by peer reivew, which is the entire point OF wikis.
