From the article:
The operators of these indexing sites appear surprised at the MPAA's decision to sue, as they have yet to receive any notification.
"Funny, they didn't email me," Gary from ISOHunt said. "I'm not too concerned because we deal with copyright requests everyday, some of them from studios MPAA represents."
"Justin" from TorrentSpy echoed Gary's skepticism. "I guess I will learn more when I see what they have filed exactly. [I'm] not sure why they are suing when we comply with DMCA requests but I guess we will learn more down the road."
The pest in Australia wasn't originally the Cane Toad, it was the Cane Beetle. The cane toad was introduced originally to eat the Cane Beetle. That's why so many people in Australia are afraid to introduce something to eat the cane toad without being 100% sure, last thing we want is yet another problem.
My area used to be filled with Green Tree Frogs, it's now filled with Cane Toads. Cane Toads have spread like a plague, and I doubt anything introduced could ever stop them. I think some kind of contagion will probably be the way to go.
It scratches... but not from just being put into my pocket. They're making a mountain out of a hill. (not an ant hill... it is a problem)
Buy a case. Simple!
JS/UIX is an UN*X-like OS for standard web-browsers, written
entirely in JavaScript (no plug-ins used). It comprises a vir-
tual machine, shell, virtual file-system, process-management,
and brings its own terminal with screen- and keyboard-mapping.
For an overview of implemented commands have a look at the
complete > JS/UIX-Manual-Pages; see also the > Version-History.
The keyboard accepts the US-ASCII character set.
As key-mapping depends from your browser, you may have to use
the cursor and backspace buttons at the lower right of the
terminal. A complete keyboard can be accessed at the lower left.
Compatibility: Netscape 4+, MS IE 4+ and DOM-aware browsers.
Didn't Bill Gates vow to rid the world of spam entirely within 2 years at some stage? I am sure I read that somewhere.
Can anyone find a link to such a quote?
As soon as I worked out the cheat that shows a colour changing pixel in the top corner of the screen I lost all interest in Minesweeper.
Most my friends now believe I am psychic because I can 'sense' whether a square has a mine under it or not:)
Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. It runs on Linux and provides all of the features you would expect from a PBX and more. Asterisk does voice over IP in three protocols, and can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using relatively inexpensive hardware.
Asterisk provides Voicemail services with Directory, Call Conferencing, Interactive Voice Response, Call Queuing. It has support for three-way calling, caller ID services, ADSI, SIP and H.323 (as both client and gateway). Check the Features section for a more complete list.
Asterisk needs no additional hardware for Voice over IP. For interconnection with digital and analog telephony equipment, Asterisk supports a number of hardware devices, most notably all of the hardware manufactured by Asterisk's sponsors, Digium(TM). Digium has single and quad span T1 and E1 interfaces for interconnection to PRI lines and channel banks as well as a single port FXO card and a one to four-port modular FXS and FXO card.
For this to happen, we need to put some pressure on the search engines. What i did not tell you above is that this problem has been around for years. Literally (see, eg. bottom of page here). The search engines have failed to take it seriously, and hence their results pages are now filled with these wrong listings. It is not hard to find examples like the one i mentioned above.
Does this means, the patent reviewers are added to the growing list of Microsoft-bashers?
I'm positive they would have been on that list looong before now!
There is a really really good explanation on what XML is and why it works here.
The W3C states though that:
XML was developed by an XML Working Group (originally known as the SGML Editorial Review Board) formed under the auspices of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in 1996. It was chaired by Jon Bosak of Sun Microsystems with the active participation of an XML Special Interest Group (previously known as the SGML Working Group) also organized by the W3C. The membership of the XML Working Group is given in an appendix. Dan Connolly served as the Working Group's contact with the W3C.
I understand that microsoft aren't claiming to have invented the technology, but it really annoys me that they are trying to patent a use, and a small extract of a software they had only a small part in developing!

I have to admit, as a user I am starting to get worried. Its not even a week since the related story on Aussie ISP raids
