Uhh... that's the artwork that is actually in Edgy. I suggest that before you *assume*, you actually look at the artwork in Edgy and Dapper.

  3. 2 Thumbs UP on A Tale in the Desert III Launches · · Score: 4, Interesting

I've played since Tale 1, and I've always enjoyed it. I think eGenesis has finally perfected it with Tale 3. The travel system and level system is completely revamped, and a great community. If you're interested in a non-convential, unique game, go for it. There's even a Linux client with a very technical community. ie: everybody whinced when this was posted on slashdot! ;)

I currently get my news from three places: My Yahoo!, Netvibes (when I get comfortable enough about their privacy practices, it'll be my new home page), and Google News. The thing they have in common is the ability to do massive customization of their home page.
    You forgot Slashdot. :-)
  8. How? on Livejournal Bans Ad-Blocking Software · · Score: 1

How will they go about enforcing this? Ad-block software will counter any JavaScript, and if it blocks out an Ajax call -- we'll just need to update Adblock to still do all the processing, but just no render the element.

  13. The moral on Judge Orders Deleted Emails Turned Over · · Score: 3, Funny

The moral of this story is to never write down anything you don't want copied or seen by other eyes. I mean, look at the ancient Egyptians. We are reading their words today and they are hidden in booby-trapped tombs!

  14. Re:PHP needs serious redesigns on PHP 6 and What to Expect · · Score: 1

I agree with your convenience point. I believe that without the absolutely excellent manual over at php.net, PHP would not be as popular. I use the manual every single day--and it's free!

  15. Re:PHP needs serious redesigns on PHP 6 and What to Expect · · Score: 1

I completely agree about just creating a new language. Keeping things backwards compatiable just messes up future releases.

The lesson learned here is that computers should not try to act smart (magic quotes and register globals). I am smart enough to add_slashes() my input.

  17. generally accepted on Open Source in Politics? · · Score: 1

At my school, it is generally accepted that OSS is good, and Microsoft is bad. I really don't understand -- you can ask anybody at school, they will all say that Microsoft is bad. That's great -- they should think that -- but they don't know why.

Although, all of computing is Apple based...

Personally, if you live in a capitalist country (I guess China would censor this if not), then go with the offer. When you see a deal like this, read the fine print, and run with it.

  22. You protect others on Is Obsolescence Good Computer Security? · · Score: 2, Interesting

In my opinion, the only thing that you are doing is protecting others. Your computer will probably not become a spam zombie, because transmitting outgoing data would be painfully slow (ie: spamming one address every 5 minutes). While you may be somewhat immune from other viruses, the trade-off of higher speeds is worth it.

Yeah, you can say that again.
  25. I'd rather play on On Televising Pro Gaming · · Score: 1

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of games? Video games give me a chance to be in the movie.

I would rather play a video a game than watch it. Then, after I die (like I always do in the first few seconds), I'll watch.
