If the population grew faster than 1.8%, then this is actually a decline. It's no different than if the inflation rate is 3%, but your salary grew just 1% -- you're technically making less money this year, even if your paycheck has a larger number on it.
I came here to say the same exact thing. I had a free subscription, and I let it run out. I also generally dislike Japanese-made games, and the EGM staff seems to love those games, so each issue had several articles of no interest to me at all.
Maybe he honestly believes that unions are a good thing for the American people, and he bemoans the fact that few people agree with him. Maybe he thinks that if this bill passes, more people will agree with him that unions are good, and they'll thank him later for passing this bill.
Just because something is unpopular, doesn't mean it's wrong.
No one can learn how to program without having a good grasp of the operators of a language. Students need to learn that symbols and words used in programming languages are only similar to their meanings in English. The "=" in "sum = num1 + num2" is not "equal", but an assignment operator that does a specific thing at a specific time. The fact that it looks like the mathematical equation "Y = X + 5" means absolutely nothing. The sooner a programmer learns that, the better off he'll be.
I don't know about you, but I would need several cameras for each shelf, all of which are capable of thermal and x-ray scans, to find out what's in my fridge. Today's packaging just does not lend itself to determining the contents of your fridge just with a few glances inside. And what about the pantry? How many times have you bought something in the store, only to find out that you already have it, but it's hiding in the back of some top shelf?
What I want is a way for me to tell the fridge that it's time to buy something. Then the fridge can generate a shopping list, sorted by supermarket aisle order. It knows the order because it communicated with the supermarket's inventory server to find out where each item is located.
The primary, and completely valid, reason to dislike the RIAA is that they harass innocent people and cost them a lot of money. They've sued individuals who didn't even own a computer. If the RIAA carefully used ethical methods, and not the shotgun "John Doe" approach they're famous for, they would have a lot more support from the Slashdot crowd. Like the DEA, they don't care at all if they've gone after the wrong person.
Both. My point was that since the console itself is more powerful (i.e. processing power and capabilities), it makes sense that it draws more electricity. I really don't see the Xbox 360 and the Wii as competitors. It's like choosing between an pickup and a Prius. Both may cost about the same, and they're both cars, but they're really very different. No one is going to narrow down his car choices to those two.
The problem I have with it is that there are thousands of bugs opened against Firefox, Seamonkey, Thunderbird, etc that have been open for years that don't get addressed because there aren't enough developers. The Mozilla foundation should be using those millions of dollars to hire programmers (especially in this economy) to fix those bugs and add those long sought-after features. The last thing they should be doing is investing in the stock market!!!!!!!!!
His point is that the Wii isn't even in the same class as an Xbox 360 or PS3. The Xbox may use ten times as much electricity, but it's also ten times as powerful. I'd even go so far as to say it's ten times as much fun.
It's because people who do drugs all too often affect innocent bystanders as well. If drug users, by and large, really did keep to themselves then you might have a point. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. Drug users commit other crimes to feed their drug habit (legal or not), and sometimes children are also victims.
I don't see how mandatory community service is that much different from mandatory attendance in the classroom. You're still required to be at a specific location and a specific time, performing some specific task. It's not like their asking the kids to replace bed pans or build office buildings.
We're not talking about Track Packs. I have an Xbox 360, and the only way I can get any of those 18 AC/DC songs is if I spend $40 on the full-blown AC/DC version of the Rock Band game. The regular Rock Band game will allow me to import those songs to my hard drive so that I don't need the AC/DC version, but like I said earlier, that's not worth $40 to me.
Oh, I definitely don't blame Harmonix for any of this crap. I know full well that these bands have a holier-than-thou complex and they refuse to give their fans all the options that other bands do. Like I said, I've been lucky that so far, I don't care enough about the bands that are doing this (AC/DC, the Beatles, and the various bands that signed on with Guitar Hero) to be disappointed.
I am complaining about the price because I don't want 18 AC/DC songs. I only want a few of them, and that's not worth $40 to me. AC/DC says they sell albums, not songs, and that's their right. It's also my right to complain about it and not purchase any of their stuff.
Fortunately, I don't care enough about AC/DC or the Beatles to really care that I'm not getting their songs, so I'm not going to make a big deal about this.
By the way, I just noticed this update to the news. Apparently, this Beatles "thing" is not going to be a Rock Band-branded game. So there's a possibility that the songs won't even be transferable to Rock Band.
but it would be nice to see a whole game based on just the evolution of The Beatles' music.
No, actually it wouldn't be nice to have another whole new game just for one band. What would be nice is to be able to purchase and download individual songs at a reasonable price. The AC/DC version of Rock Band costs $40 for 18 songs, and you can't buy individual songs - it's all or nothing. This shit has gotta stop.
The same BLS says the unemployment rate is 6%. That means there are 11.3 million unemployed citizens
Bzzz.... wrong. Thanks for playing.
The 6% unemployment rate refers to people who are actively seeking work but haven't found it. That is a small percentage of the total number of adults.

They would if Fox News made a big deal about it.

There was a problem over the past 2-3 weeks with poor connectivity, especially in the evenings. The problem should be fixed by now. It is for me.

Wow, what a passive-aggressive way of saying, "I disagree with you."

You might make more contacts at the bigger company, but those contacts are just going to think of you as "that coffee guy".
My wife's a fruitcake, and I like her. Does that count?
But not too cheap. Don't buy anything under $50.

If Windows comes with Ghostscript, then Microsoft has already gotten permission to distribute it.

XNA lets you develop and publish games on the Xbox 360 for $100/year.
