1) If any "free" host requires 1 cent or 1 dollar to make sure I'm for real I'm not going to use them for the following reasons.
a) no longer free, im im going to pay might as well go for a real host
b) no immediate return, could take 24, 48, 72 hrs. I want to start work NOW.
c) I got no credit card - this means I have to do all sorts of other shit to get these people that 1 penny.
2) if you remove 'free host' my money says prices for 'paid hosting' will go up at the same time quality of service goes down
I overclocked my amd 1.2 ghz to 1.98~ ghz with no problems, no crashes, no lost data.
For bragging rights ? Hardly, it's called "800 free MHZ" and "America's Army runs faster".
In situations where I can get MORE for FREE instead of tossing a GOOD CPU just to buy a new one when the old one could have done the same job you will find me overclocking.
For those who don't want to squeeze the extra overhead OEMS *leave* in there products, cool.
I how ever will continue to get more free clock cycles from my video card and cpu while some others go waste time and 200$ dollars for *their* 800mhz.
I got an idea, lets make up some numbers !
" Worldwide revenue loss due to software piracy was estimated at $33 billion for 2004. "
Ok ok.. the software is ILLEGAL, so um, how did you come up with this number ? Out of thin air ? Seriously does anyone question how they pretend to arrive at such statistics ?
Do they run some anony web site were all the illegal users can come click radio buttons and check boxes to indicate the amount of illegal software they have ? Because, without any REAL way to show how you did your fact finding, I think your FULL OF SHIT.
Plus, if these people had no other option how are we to know that they wouldn't go with a FREE alternative ?
But , this is not science - JUST GUESSING.
Have a stuper day,
me
Whatever just make it so when I send.DOCS it doesn't fork everything up. (via openorfice)
On another note, big deal. If the staffing agencies, govt or other commonly interfaced entities don't accept.NEW then it won't matter that it exist or that it's an "accepted" format to some body of people (read:"whoot we made a format")
When I can start sending my resume in.NEW format without someone going "wha..?" it'll be cool.
If you're not significantly smart enough to avoid buying beta products that's your bad.
I think any company has the right to sell products at any stage of development they want. If people didn't consume this stuff they'd probably stop selling it.
I'm from Texas and I like this rest stop wi-fi project.
However I don't think citizens of Texas should foot the bill some people can download oh say, kiddie porn or use the states wi-fi for file sharing.
Only a small group of people would do it but I can easily imagine "sickos" (see:child porn) who live close by to these spots trecking over there for the free high speed.
On the other foot I don't think the state of Texas wants the RIAA to sue them because they found gigs and gigs of music are being moved over their networks at road side stops.
Actually it was a terrible thing.
It cost ISPs more money and forced them to decide which to support or to support both (even more money). Then after v90 came out the ISPs then again had to upgrade their modem banks (unless firmware upgrade was available) and end users once again are buying new modems since MOST EUs dont do firmware upgrades, etc.
Then it left KFLEX users on X2 isps with 33.6 unless they get ANOTHER modem or ANOTHER isp.
So "No, not really." isn't the case.
Woot watch ur back Microshaft or someone is going to make a FREE browser that beats your FREE browser.
Why exaclty should MS care again, besides saving face ? Im pretty sure they make exactly 0$ off of IE.
Why the fuck is Intel making shit in Israel ??
It's not like they are right around the fucking corner.

this will never happen. it's not illegal to let someone borrow your dvd without you being there.
ill believe this a little more when we get iris scans in airports for HOMELAND security.
poor poor big companies need better security technology than airports.
the govt doesnt actually care. this is just a study someome did to 'look busy'. if the govt cared this problem would not exist in the first place.
they should make their own IM client, better than MSN just to throw salt in the wound. Im sure I'd use it.

If they are providing such a service on the taxpayer's dime, it must be usable by every taxpayer in whatever manner they so choose.
Wrong. Let's try this thought experiment : public library internet access is filtered.
Thanks for playing, try again.

Many things to consider here.
No it doesn't, this is the most stupid thing I've heard in a while.
Oh golly jee, maybe I'm violating my 'social contract' (what a load) when I change the channel when commercials come on.
Did someone come up with this at a coke party full of online advertisers or what
And offers to pull out of data-security market.
These people are going to do what they want anyhow, regardless of what you and I think or what makes sense. Sit back and enjoy the show.
