  2. I've tried it on a Norwegian flight (2h). Low bandwidth and high ping made the connexion only good for light surfing and IM. Also, the connexion was unstable, and I experienced several 10sec+ drops.

    I would pay for it on a 4h+ flight though. Sucks being offline on those longs flights.

    While this may seem like a good idea at first glance, the implications of accepting such requests could be terrifying:

    One could imagine threats such as "If you don't give your heart to patient, we will murder your family one by one".

    Desperate people with questionable morals will go to great length to save someone they care about.

    France recycles a large part of the nuclear waste from many countries in Europe at the Hague reprocessing plant.

    Storage of long term waste is done by vitrification and buried in deep geological repository.

    This paper describes a side channel attack (basically a trojan listening to the sound card when skype is active), not a real attack where skype traffic would be intercepted and decrypted.

    If you're smart enough to know how to avoid getting a trojan on your computer, you're fine.

    If the encrypted traffic of Skype was compromised, the FSB would probably know about it.

    Without hardware accelerated h.264 playback, I'm not going back to VLC.

    Still, it's a great do it all player / streamer.

    lossy audio is very useful for streaming. Many of us have stopped storing mp3s and just listen streamed music on websites such as deezer.com.
