    i know this is bad news but i can't help think that it might have some good come from it. after all, penicillin came from some mould...
    what with all the DNA research going on, i wonder of a "super weed" that resists all poisens. if it naturally (well, not entirely naturally obviously) occured, would we be able to extract this super immune system and inject the dna into something else? i heard they made a glow in the dark monkey by stuffing some glowing fish genes in there so who knows...

    i love debian and kde, so what i do is boot from a knoppix cd then run
    knx2hd
    as root. this brings up an installer which gives you the choice of a knoppix like system or a debian like system. either way you get a kde desktop.
    heh, you can even read slashdot during the install (i always do) as it runs from the desktop, how mad is that

    to be honest with you, i just plain disagree with that, when using the file explorer you are in the desktop environment
    i think this is (to use a completely unfit analogy) the same (maybe) as how the word hacker has been corrupted to the point where it means something else than it originally meant, but that would only be in your mind...i think it has and always will refer to the desktop environment the programs run in
    just a difference in opinion really

    that is using the desktop silly, it's all a graphical environment. you must be a windows user, unaware of the ctrl+alt+function keys way of nipping out of X and just dealing with the command line.
    sounds to me like you haven'tnot ever seen your desktop while using your computer

    smart move all round for everyone really, who woulda thunk it.
    now can we please have rid of the microsoft spyware that has been around since windows 95 that saves all your email correspondance,typed urls etc in hidden folders? seriously, it is good to see them take this step though, shows they are thinking about system stability more seriously.

    whenever i have used ATI on either windows or linux, something usually made the 3D display prone to being buggy as hell. maybe it's hardware, maybe it's thje driver, but nvidia have always been rock solid for me. maybe this improvement will fix ATI's problems

    better than if somebody typed in a track they wanted to buy then clicked on a sponsered link tyhat made them go to a webpage that made them type it in again.
    also good to aggregayr the archives of more than one vendor into this saerch database, as some vendors will have songs others might not.
    good for the retailers, good for us, thats a rare one
