Could this be the first step on the path to Microsoft Linux? Maybe they plan to embrace-and-extend their competition (Redhat) away, at least in the server room.
Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddhas can kill anyone they want! Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddhas cut off heads ALL the time and don't even think twice about it. These guys are so crazy and awesome that they flip out ALL the time. I heard that there was this Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddha who was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon the Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddha killed the whole town. My friend Mark said that he saw a Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddha totally uppercut some kid just because the kid opened a window.
And that's what I call REAL Ultimate Power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don't believe that Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddhas have REAL Ultimate Power you better get a life right now or they will chop your head off!!! It's an easy choice, if you ask me.
Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddhas are sooooooooooo sweet that I want to crap my pants. I can't believe it sometimes, but I feel it inside my heart. These guys are totally awesome and that's a fact. Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddhas are fast, smooth, cool, strong, powerful, and sweet. I can't wait to start yoga next year. I love Skinny-Ass-Kicking Buddhas with all of my body (including my pee pee).
Currently only a couple of entries' descriptions even come up; the others get MySQL "too many connections" errors. Guess which ones are going to get the most votes?
If you put up a voting site and want it to be fair, make sure your services can handle the load!
The technical problems you mention which held the Amiga back are in a way also attributable to Commodore; they slashed the R&D budget to the bone, preventing those problems from being solved.
I don't know which device made by Sima they're complaining about, but last time I checked (can't open their webpage now) they make equipment for legitimate video work and that's their target market. I have a Sima Color Corrector Pro which can remove Macrovision protection from video signal, but it's a video production device that's made for and targeted to legitimate video production work.
You can kill someone with a hammer; are they gonna make those illegal too now?
I didn't see mention of what internal software was used, but a lot of NAS devices use Samba and won't work properly with Vista. Check out this link.
That's the problem with NAS devices; Microsoft loves to change its network protocols with each new version of Windows, breaking countless NAS devices that are past vendor support.
There are a number of NAS devices designed to work with Windows 2000 that don't work well with windows XP; the vendors won't provide updates and would rather you just chuck it and buy a new NAS device.
I have a Motorola e815, which includes a camera, datebook, games, Web, and movies/music. I don't use it for music or movies, but I've found the other features invaluable. I never really carried a seperate camera around, but now it's so handy having one there for moments with the kids; the games are great during "down time" like when I was recently in a jury pool; the web is great for impromptu weather/news/movie times, and the datebook syncs with iCal and Outlook and is my primary calendar now.
I hacked the bluetooth to allow file transfers (had been crippled by Verizon), so it costs me nothing to transfer the photos/movies to my Mac, the only extra I have to pay is $5/mo for Mobile Web.
I used to deride all these features too until I got a great deal on phone that has them. I find the user interface not perfect, but pretty decent. I have heard complaints about other phones' UI (such as the Razor) though, so I guess it comes down to the user interface.
Mark Hamil's on-screen career hasn't done too well, but he's got a great career going as a voice actor; he's damn good at it too. According to Wil Wheaton it's good, steady work once you get your foot in the door.
Virtualization may, but it's only now that Intel has finally released x86 chips with an un-fucked instruction set that allows for full hardware virtualization (beyond virtual 8086).
It'll still be a while before Microsoft can discontinue support for all Pentiums without this new virtualization capability, and remove the compatability kludges from Windows.
It's an interesting quesion that probably won't really be answered for sure until high-enough resolution vision is possible. By that point it may not matter because they'll have probably figured out a way to squeeze the camera into a glass eyeball that's connected to the ocular muscles and optic nerve.
If such an excellent artifical reproduction of the eye can be implanted soon enough after the loss of the original eye, the brain will probably automatically be able to handle it moving and focusing it just like the original. That's all probably a long way off, but I'm sure it'll happen someday.
... allows Intel Macs to easily and legally multi-boot
(Sorry if this is redundant; I just caught this and haven't read through all the comments.)
If you own your Mac, have a legal, licensed copy of OSX, and have a legal, licensed copy of Windows XP SP2, then what could possibly be illegal about installing Windows on your Mac anyway?
Has the DMCA gotten people so scared to use their own hardware as they see fit that it's just assumed to be illegal to do anything out of the ordinary?
Actually, it's practical knowledge that I dare not share (but others should be able to figure out and probably have). I truly wish I could share it but I dare not, living in the U.S. If TiVo goes under (though I hope they don't) or completely obsoletes those models then maybe it'll be possible.
(Sorry to reply to myself)
BTW, I was smart enough not to be the one who asked!

If you think the whole Mac/PC beef is religious in nature, try the Tivo/anything else one.
Ain't that the truth.
Go to an online TiVo forum and ask about feeding your TiVo listings from XMLTV rather than subscribing. Bask in the hostility.
Here's a hint: google for "oztivo", "tivocanada", and "service emulator". Learn perl. Then lament the fact that you'd be sued and lynched if you ever told anyone how you did it.
Yeah, I've recently heard that they did eventually come out with some data models, but they weren't available back then, at least not at the consumer level. Once the Iomega ZIP drives came out, Sony lost their chance.
Now with flash memory and cheap CDRW's (and even DVDR's) there's little need anymore for that type of storage.
But 1984? Did you and I see the same movie?
I hear they made a pretty good book out of that movie.
Better also get some puke buckets; reading + road trip = carsick.

Because you'll believe anything.

I don't think they'd be running something half-assed.
It's good to know that they don't do things Mickey-Mouse over there!

Without a delay in that loop, only your dog will hear that! (Sadly, I didn't even have to look anything up to know what you were doing)

... this is the kind of thing SGI used to do. Well, I guess a little SGI does live on in NVidia (and in the price of this thing!)

Is UPnP widely used already, and if so could Bonjour ever gain any traction in the Windows market?
Thank. You. Mister. Shatner.

I had some of those experiences myself. Another victim of the one-size-fits-all cookie-cutter mentality that comes with institutionalized education.
.. but it'd be better if the exoskeleton was directly worn/used by the quadrapelegic and MS sufferer.
