The difference between the 21st century workplace and the 1950s workplace is that the water cooler got a lot bigger and there are far more people drinking out of it,...
While CNN, MSNBC, and Faux News, are all likely to have live streaming feeds of election results, it might be more worthwhile to head to your local sports bar. They'll very likely have the election results on, and they have a reasonable supply of alcohol as well, which will come in handy no matter who wins (if your candidate of choice wins, you celebrate; if the other guy wins, you drown away your sorrows),...;-)
Um, according to fivethirtyeight.com's data, Indiana is a "toss-up", with their calculation of numerous polls putting the probability of Obama at 48% and McCain at 52%. Your vote certainly does count, and if you think otherwise, then McCain will run away with your state for certain.
Maybe I'm just getting old (I am 25 after all), but who wants to sit at their computer at watch music videos?
Ever hear of S-Video out on your graphics card? Many computers have them these days.
As for the quality, yeah, it's probably about on par with Youtube, though some are better, since they're converted from the original recording and not some fan's degraded VHS tape from the 1980s. Searching for a song on MTV's site is still a lot better than Youtube, though, since you generally get the song without having to sift through all the other crap on Youtube,...
We had a student in our laboratory this summer doing some work on molecular simulations using the PS3, so we really do have game consoles in the office,...
Oh, and I'm really gettng a kick out of these replies,...;-)
Palin doesn't like "fruit fly research" because apparently, the couch potato gene is linked to the Republican gene. So if scientists figure this out, we'll be able to cure the Neo-Con disease,...
Yeah, I caught that. Made me wonder if those companies were somehow donating funds for this research. But it's unlikely that the students would be able to get three separate grants from three separate computer companies. I mean, it doesn't really matter who made the computer you're doing research on, unless the company that made the computer donated it to your group for said research.
According to this press release, Saint Arnold's Brewing Company is actually working with the student researchers. They supplied them with the brewer's yeast.
$100,000 per year is nothing to most public and private university budgets. Most college presidents make about two to three times that, alone! If your school has a division I-A (or even II-A) football program, they spend at least 10-15 times that.
So, in the past couple of months we've seen several folks come out and support free streaming of TV shows and movies, most notably IMDB and now Youtube. What I am noticing is that none of it appears to be exclusive streaming -- most of these shows have been licensed to just about everybody. I guess from the network technology perspective, this is a good thing, so as to avoid a popular server from slashdotting one particular site. But from a competition perspective, is this really a good thing? I mean, if everybody's got the same stuff, then where's the incentive to develop a particular site over another?
Is this the technology that 3D Realms has been waiting for by delaying Duke Nukem Forever by this long? When it finally does come out, it's going to be awesome!!!!
Don't get me wrong; I'm still all for replacing Bush & Co. with Obama/Biden,... but this copyright czar thing is one area I might not want Biden's advice on, with his anti-consumer track record in this area,... Then again, McSame/Pain might screw things up even worse,...
That age is in full agreement with the right wing creationists' "young earth" theory, so they can still use AIDS as "God's punishment" to the gay community. Has Sarah Palin brought this up on the campaign trail, yet?;-)
Yeah, this is a wonderful idea! Because, as you know, deregulating the financial industry just worked out dandy!
Umm, yeah,... looks like you missed yesterday's discussion.

Just to keep the thread non-partisan, I should point out that they don't do DST in Barack Obama's birthplace of Hawaii, either.
Don't you mean, "In Soviet Russia..."?

You've apparently never had Professor Gesser's Mind-Numbing Ale from the Bluegrass Brewing Company,... ;-)

MSNBC also will have a live stream. I suspect Fox News will, too, for those with a more conservative leaning,...
Bill Clinton already implemented that in his White House intern program. Unfortunately, Hillary didn't like it very well. ;-)
Fancast = Comcast. End of debate. Thank you for playing.

"Steve Ballmer wants to borrow your chair. Confirm or deny?"
Mission Accomplished.
Rep. Ron Paul is still not impressed. ;-)

Are you sure you got that word right? Windows Chair has a much better ring to it, especially if it's a Steve Ballmer project,... ;-)
