With cracked executables and loaders, this protection still won't do really anything. All it does is tell the pirates, "Hey! Don't use serialz or keygens. Crack & Patch me instead!". I remember all sorts of brilliant protection schemes that were made to prevent things like this cracked in no more than a week. If there is a demand, it shall be cracked.
To me, it seems that this protection scheme will only scare away the casual pirate and not the hardcore ones.
Of course it's ridiculous. Why do the Japanese get a price drop and the rest of the world has to pay $600(or similiar in different currencies)? It seems like Sony is desparate to get marketshare and has carelessly discarded the rest of the consumer base.
How do we know that they stole the photos? It could have been someone else that just gave it to them and they put it online. It seems to be that the police are eager to arrest these guys.
If you want to save money and have a picture of anything you want, you could draw one for him or encourage him to be creative to make his own. I always liked being creative when I was younger(and I still do).
In a book I read when I was younger, if you wipe your finger along a big line of ants they lose the scent and get lost. I've done that alot and they do get losr abd run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
KotOR is extremely linear with a such a low amount of replay value.
Really, which is better, a game with no replay value that collects dust after you beat it, or a game that's open-ended and has a construction set.

Also, it seems this time it isn't "SCO says Linux contains their proprietory code.",but "SCO may have Linux code."
