For the first time in history urban areas are over 70% minorities. Thus America is one of the few lands where you can be outnumbered but THEY are considered the minority.
I love math... It's so... flexible.
Wow, if you click through the article and get to the last page (click the "check out the site and service here link") you can click on John Kerry's face 4 times and it will activate the mouse vibrator. You must have Haptic 1.2 for it to work though.
Awesome technology.
does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that Google is going to save costs on storing gmail accounts by storing everyone's email in one huge Yahoo mail account?

Car batteries are sealed and doesn't get refilled often. This type of fuel cell would need to be refilled regularly, thus requiring the user to handle sugar substances. I doubt people on slashdot would ever spill stuff, but normal people might.
It's about time! Now I hope they make it simple to use and search (Amazon's is clunky, only shows a couple pages and incompatible with many browsers.)
When I'm purchasing online, I will ONLY buy books that I am familiar with especially when it's a technical book. It's silly to spend cash on a book if you're not certain it's the right one...
Funny, considering one of the main reasons I won't buy DRM products is it already costs more to do so. If I want my favorite Britney song from Itunes, it costs 99 cents. If I want a ringtone of the same thing, Verizon charges me up to a couple bucks for a much smaller clip of exactly the same song. Why would I pay twice for something I can rip from my (wifes') CD and create myself anyway? Don't they see it's costing THEM more money in the long run to include this garbage?
This seems to be a misleading article. Most phishing techniques do not use elaborate setups as suggested. They use very simple techniques. Oddly enough, the article author seems to agree.
Evidently, this would require a large degree of innovation, research and development on the part of the creators of malicious code, and I genuinely doubt that they would bother.
The potential scenerio quoted in the post is so far fetched, it's doubtful anyone will ever pull it off. It involves hacking their voip system, home computer (and address book), a mass-mailing spam which happens to also include the email address of the hacked computer, user intervention (they must read the spam and respond), and the hacker must also have a good enough radio voice to fool the homeowner into thinking he's actually calling his real bank.
Don't know about you, but we're not to afraid of this possible Voice over IP threat.
It's a deal
I understand your points quite well. I'm not a Nintendo Fanboy though. I would just rather give my money to Nintendo because of Sony's recent business decisions. I may not represent the majority of/. (or the rest of earth) but I categorically avoid companies that have been found to do bad business with their customers. The rootkit incident alone was enough for me to avoid Sony across the board. The arguable QA which let the questionable batteries out to market is another misstep. In a way though, ultimately you are right... Sony has LOTS of money in lots of other areas. Regardless of how much money they have, Sony is simply giving me reasons not to like them. Higher console cost and questionable business are just the latest reasons.
Free as in Linux? No, free as in Microsoft!

Sugar is sticky and it can jack up electronics. I don't think that's a good thing...
I am now getting closer to 200Kb/s. Weird.
I'm at 130KB/s before this news goes public... I wonder how for it will go down after the story hits the front page...
Time for a divorce.

But I coulda swore I heard some crackpot on the radio saying the US already HAD a base on the moon. Man, slashdot is slow...
They ... keep ... going ... around ... in ... circles.
Can the 15.4 inch version have a WUXGA screen?
